I was on the freeway this morning and ended up behind a motorcycle with a side car. In the side car was a woman with luxurious red hair. On the back of the side car was the ubiquitous “Dog is my co-pilot” bumpersticker.
I’ve never really gotten this slogan. It’s obvious that it’s some mild word play based on the reverse spelling of “God,” but I’ve still never seen why this rather silly word joke rises to the level of a hugely popular bumpersticker.
It was only as I got abreast of the motorcycle that I figured out that this bumpersticker owner had finally gotten it right: the red-headed woman at his side was a beautiful Irish Setter.
