Okay, I’ve got a really bad joke (original to WWII) to tell you. Then, I’m going to send you to Cheat-Seeking Missiles for an actual news story that makes the joke look like quality information.
During WWII, American troops were stationed in the back of beyond, perhaps somewhere in Central Europe. They had a lot of time on their hands, and started having a running debate about which smelled worse: the local peasants or the local goats. They finally got their Commanding Officer involved, and he agreed to determine which did in fact smell worse. With the unit looking on, someone brought a goat into the C.O.’s office and the C.O. promptly fainted. Those who had backed the goat as the most smelly cheered. However, before they had a chance to savor their victory, someone brought a peasant into the office — and the goat fainted.
I did tell you it was a bad joke, didn’t I? Now, go here for an even sillier reality.
