Killing while crazy or killing while Muslim?

Sweetness and Light reports that the mass murderer in Salt Lake City is Muslim (Bosnian). Could be coincidence; could be connected. I’ll be very interested as new information emerges.
UPDATE: It’s also worth noting that the killing spree ended because someone who wasn’t a homocidal maniac was also carrying a gun, and stopped him.

Not all Bosnians are Muslim. Bosnian immigrant who works out at my gym is Catholic. Likely this shooter was Muslim but I think it inadvisable to jump to conclusions. He was reportedly also 18 years old and wearing a trenchcoat like the Columbine psychos.
Like I said. You need some major firepower in order to unleash the rage in America. Guy with knife in shopping mall trying to kill people? He’ll be the one in the hospital after he gets jumped by the crowd.
This guy didn’t have enough firepower, even with a ballistic weapon. Another reason why some people believe in peace through superior firepower, and other folks believe in peace through negotiations with hostage takers. Forget about the negotiations I say.
This also refers back to what Grim said about hardening your society. You can’t get enough security forces to protect everyone, everywhere, all the time. So you just arm the citizens, the targets that is. So when the targets get hit, the targets fire back, with no need to rely upon the police or the SWAT. Hold em until reinforcements. Like a real war.
Philosophy used to be the difference between life and death, before it got turned into an scholarly field. It still is to a certain extent. I tend to think the police is around to protect the rest of us, as in the society. If you get shot in a mass killing spree, too bad for you, but the police doesn’t have secret police powers to protect everyone for a reason. Freedom has a price. Even though it seems our ancestors seemed to have paid off all the interest.
Disarming the population is a good idea. If you wish to consolidate power into the hands of the rich, the elites, and the government. This is the peace true liberals want. The innocent saved, the guilty dead. And it can only be accomplished through superior firepower. It sure can’t be done with inferior firepower.
I think you’re right, Zhombre, that, absent further information, it can go either way right now. Further information will be very helpful. The only thing to keep in mind is that Sulejman is a Muslim name. If his name were some Bosnian equivalent of Jesus or Christian, or a neutral name like Frederick, the verdict might be out longer on his religion, but Sulejman is kind of up there with Mohammed as a giveaway. Incidentally, that still doesn’t mean he was shooting while Muslim. He could still be crazy, but one does wonder at the number of crazy Muslims lately.
I’m grabbing some help from Tim Larkin since he spells it out in a way that I think is similar to what I’m saying. I just came across these articles right now, after all.

In a weird sort of way, this also connects with Angela. Who is no angel presumably. She may have been great at a speaking event but, why is there the inability to link together acts of violence with acts of seemingly rational discourse?
Frankly, as soon as I read your post Headline I asked myself, “Uh, is there a difference?” I know it sounds like a very non-PC question, but I’m really starting to wonder about the “Religion of [cough!] Peace [cough!]“. I say it’s very telling that we don’t hear many (indeed, very few) “moderates” condemning the “radicals” - leading to the question “ARE there many moderates?” I think it’s established history that the ROP grew by the sword MUCH more than by intellectual persuasion.
I saw this at Sweetness & Light too. Then again, I think reasonable people who are not in denial over the religion of peace suspected this from the beginning. It’s like the media just holds off reporting the name of the murderer hoping against all hope that he is not a muslim.
What I’m waiting for is the first time a non-Muslim actually DOES initiate violence against Muzzies. For real, I mean, rather than in CAIR’s fantasies of oppression. The PC authorities will come down on everyone to the right of Dennis Kucinich like a ton of bricks. Farewell Bill of Rights after that. Our liberal masters are going to bare our throats to the blade.
BookWorm further update from S/L that he was a muslim:
