As the father of a nearly one year old daughter, I can say yes I suppose there are times when we can anticipate our daughter's movements. However it's not foolproof. And babies don't just eliminate solid waste, there's also liquid waste that isn't preceeded by any cue. A friend of mine one said that he liked the idea of having his children going without diapers, but he couldn't because then he'd have to move daily. But I fear that the "without diaper" parents -- because they are so enamored with "natural" -- are likely to be very reluctant to set boundaries and teach self-discipline to their growing children. Sounds like another example of the "natural" is "good" school of thought. Cholera, typhoid fever and dysentery are natural, but they are not good.
