Discover the wonderful

If you haven’t yet added Cheat-Seeking Missiles to your daily or, at least, your weekly reading list, why not? Laer is burning hot today. I was going to link to and discuss his top post about Kerry and the Petraeus report, but then I got side tracked by another post further down, which is about an even less savory aspect of the Clinton legacy than any you thought about before. “I’d better discuss that, instead,” I thought to myself, only to read further and discover Laer’s brilliant “Give Peace a Chance.” All I can say is that I never get that inspired by bumper stickers.

I’ve got a deadline tugging at me this morning, so couldn’t be inspired even if I wanted to. Thank goodness I can wholeheartedly recommend someone else’s blog as a better place than mine.

Here are a few other potpourri suggestions for reading this morning:

Robert Spencer’s analysis of Osama’s latest video missive, including an explanation of the threat lying behind the invitation to convert to Islam.

Noah Pollak discusses yet another fallacy in the Walt & Mearsheimer thesis, this one being the charge that America’s support for Israel destabilizes the region, thereby negatively affecting America’s interests.

Patrick Poole looks at the CAIR driven canard that Muslims are victims of increasing anti-Muslim racism in the American workplace.

Byron York examines MoveOn.org’s increasingly strident pressure on Democratic Congressmen to oppose the war, even when those Congressmen know that this position is not in America’s best interests.

Michael Barone analyzes a recent poll that indicates that Bush dementia amongst Democrats doesn’t erase their deeper concerns about America’s future safety or their understanding that America’s situation vis a vis the Muslim terrorists will not change simply because Bush leaves office in 2009.

Although it must pain the collective minds behind the New York Times, the paper publishes a poll revealing that Americans trust the military a lot more when it comes to the War than they do Congress. Despite MoveOn’s perfidy (see the Byron York article, above), that bodes well for General Petraeus’ appearance before Congress.

Baby, meet bathwater. You’re both going down the drain. Why? Because the United States Bureau of Prisons, in order to prevent radical Islamists from gaining converts in prison have ordered the purge of Islamic religious materials from prison libraries. The problem is that, because you can’t just purge one religion from prison, all religions have got to go. So, along with Islamic jihadist materials (that would include the Koran), Jewish, Christian, Hindu and all other religious texts are going — even though there is no indication that the latter have anything to do with increased terrorist violence.
