Happy Hanukkah!

I found this lovely picture of an 18th Century Hanukkah celebration (or, at least, that’s what I’ve been led to believe the picture shows).

Just as that family looks delighted with this remembrance of a fight for religious freedom and a miracle, I hope that all you also enjoy a very Happy Hanukkah!

Happy Hanukkah to you and yours!
My family and I are about as gentile as you can get, but I’ll look and see if I can spot any old Jewish traditions among the population of Spanish ‘crypto-jews’ here in New Mexico!
May the growing brilliance of the Festival of Lights brighten the Season and the coming year for all you hold dear.
Happy Hanukkah!
