Obviously you are not going to read Dr. Bock's book. Autism is both genetic and environmentally caused.

How about this link:
<a href="http://www.newstarget.com/022479.html" rel="nofollow">Study "Disproving" Mercury-Autism Link Published in Journal with Financial Ties to Vaccine Manufacturers</a>

or http://www.newstarget.com/022479.html
in case the link is stripped.

book, do you ever wonder why i give you such a hard time? it's because, while you are a gifted stringer of words and obviously well-read, your ignorant as a hillbilly.

"Of course, Barack’s Iowa victory may also cast into the light something I’ve already noted: Barack’s not really black. Sure, he’s got a genetic black inheretence, and he likes obsessing about his blackness, but his youthful influences and his education were mainstream white — something American blacks might notice."

he's not "really" black? HUNHH? also, what exactly is a "mainstream white:" upbringing? something like this comes to mind:

you're freakin' unreal!

Leora, if were just one study, I might be more cautious. But unless I'm much mistaken, this is only the most recent in a serious of studies that have not made the connection. I agree that it's no bed of roses to live with an autistic child, but it's also no bed of roses living with children who are profoundly damaged by the rheumatic fever family of diseases (measles, scarlet fever, etc.) or, worse, not getting to live with your child at all, because it died of a childhood scourge. Fortunately, we're not at this point yet because herd immunity (the protection conferred on the un-vaccinated by the vaccinated) and quality medical intervention limit the risk of illness or the damage from illness. There's always a tipping point, though, and that's where things get scary.

It's also interesting that Block suggests that families can have a history of autism, which seems to imply a congenital, rather than environmental cause for the disease.

I think you need to re-read that article about the vaccination study. The study doesn't prove there is no link between vaccines and autism. It just means more research needs to be done, and there are no simple answers, like taking the thimerosal out.

Yes, those diseases you mentioned were nasty killers. But a lifetime of living with an autistic child is no bed of roses, either.

Currently, all the evidence of linkage is anecdotal. But there is so much of it that one still needs more answers. A good book on this topic is Healing the New Childhood Epidemics: Autism, ADHD, Asthma, and Allergies: The Groundbreaking Program for the 4-A Disorders by Dr. Kenneth Bock. He suggests altering the vaccine schedule and never give a sick baby a vaccine. Especially for families with a history of autism.

The Christopher Hitchens article and another one on American Thinker by Kyle-Anne Shiver (http://www.americanthinker.com/2008/01/obamas_alinsky_jujitsu.html)
both highlight the overt ethnicity promoted by the Trinity United Church of Christ, of which Obama reportedly worships.

A visit to their webpage (http://www.tucc.org) begins with some Flash animation culminating with the church's name and symbol superimposed over the continent of Africa.

The About US page includes the statement: " We are an African people, and remain "true to our native land," the mother continent, the cradle of civilization."

This really bugs me. I don't think I need to point out all the things that are wrong here.
