Quoted from the Ann Coulter article:
After his term as governor, NARAL Pro-Choice America assailed Romney, saying: "(A)s governor he initially expressed pro-choice beliefs but had a generally anti-choice record. His position on choice has changed. His position is now anti-choice."

That really surprises me! I was sure Romney had been pro-choice up until he announced his run for President.

Now it turns out that even while governing Massachusetts, he made pro-choice noises in Massachusetts but was "generally anti-choice". Isn't that interesting.

This is a good argument for having a very long primary season, giving us a chance to fully vet the candidates, seeking our way through the blizzard of MSM disinformation, to try to reach the truth.

I'm becoming a LOT friendlier now toward a Romney candidancy than I was even a week ago.

Hi Danny,
Had to look that one up. I can't fish to save my life. Yes, the MSM would go after Mitt like a feeding frenzy.. I don't think it would turn off enough voters to turn the tide unless they devolved to the behavior level of the Wellstone funeral.

Marguerite, I heard the same Dorothy Rabinowitz interview. She can be a great writer, but all I heard was a snobby Manhattan doyenne who wouldn't dream of supporting anyone but that "charming" McCain. It was almost frightening how incapable she was of going beyond her own narrowly defined cult of personality. It reminded me of that anecdote about Pauline Kael's shock when Nixon one and how she, a Manhattanite who never strayed beyond the island's borders, kept going around saying, "I don't know how it happened. I don't know anyone who voted for him."

Goodpoints Ann made. I'm pushing for Fred Thompson. But Romney will do.

McCain and Huckabee are not Repulicans. Huck is a liberal populist, and McCain is a McCainite, nothing more.

Al, I believe that the MSM would go after Romney's religion like fish after chum. They would also royally turn off most of the American people, in whom I have faith as being a fundamentally decent people. No, I am not LDS. I worry more about Romney's lack of foreign experience as being a negative, although he certainly would not have to defend himself on that score against the Democrat contenders.

It is patently obvious the MSM is lauding potential Republican candidates they believe whom they could then blow out of the water with their unified propaganda machine in the general election. That's what they tried the first time GWB ran. McCain still does not see that, and that is yet another reason why he is not fit for the job.
If Mitt gets the nod, I would be happy to support him. I'm just a bit concerned how the MSM would go after his religion. After the discussion we had here several weeks ago, it's obvious there is fertile ground for the ever-so-tollerent libs to encourage the electorate to burn the Mormons at the stake.

I heard part of a Dorothy Rabinowitz interview today by Dennis Prager and she could say nothing good about Romney. If he is the Rep. nominee she says that a Clinton victory is assured. Doesn't she write for the WS Journal? And aren't they pro-illegal immigration?
