I dimly remember waking up at some point in the early morning in this guy’s room. I remember him walking me back to my room. I couldn’t have made it alone

I made myself vulnerable and even now it’s hard to think that someone here who I have talked and laughed with could be cold-hearted enough to take advantage of that vulnerability.

She couldn't have made it in either case, alone. Some people seem to think if they make themselves vulnerable, society should take care of them like good little sheep.

This is sad beyond belief:

"I’m told that I walked in and within 5 minutes was making out with one of the guys who lived there, who I’d talked to some in the dining hall but never really hung out with. I may have initiated it. I don’t remember arriving at the party; I dimly remember waking up at some point in the early morning in this guy’s room. I remember him walking me back to my room. I couldn’t have made it alone; I still had too much alcohol in my system to even stand up straight. I made myself vulnerable and even now it’s hard to think that someone here who I have talked and laughed with could be cold-hearted enough to take advantage of that vulnerability. I’d rather, sometimes, take half the blame than believe that a profound evil can exist in mankind."

What's craziest is she can't even SEE how childlike she is in her refusal to take responsibility for what happened. The guy is a "profound evil"? Perhaps she ought to ponder the banality of evil, and how much banal evil she has in her, since she sees so much profound evil in him. And boy oh boy, is this young woman banal!

It's clear there was mutual making out; it's clear she woke up in his bed. How likely is it that she passed out in a bed - and was raped while unconscious - in a randomly chosen bed that just so happened to belong to the same guy she chose to make out with? The coincidence strains all credulity.

Not very likely at all. There was mutual making out and then there was mutual sex. How conveniently she has blacked it all out. Not the first case of shameful alcohol-induced behavior that I have seen blacked out, while other less-shameful alcohol-induced behavior remains clear to the mind the next morning, not the first time I've seen this at all.

If yer gonna engage in hedonistic free-for-all sexual escapades, at least have the fortitude to accept and admit it.

It is unfortunate that she lived in a civilization that did not actively seek to teach its children how to use the tools of violence to uphold not only their personal safety but the state of the civilization itself.

Hollywood and their decadent lifestyle doesn't help prepare people to deal with real violence, either. In fact, it is a great hinderance.

In the end, people are responsible for themselves, for civilization sure as heck ain't going to come to their rescue. Certainly not in time against those that cheat.

Which reminds me of this comment I left here just when Book went on the Florida vacation.

In defense of college girls:
The reason the clinics are empty is because the vast majority (virtually all) of college girls don't respond the way the girl in the story did. If something like that happens, they regret it, they may be ashamed of it, they may learn from it, they may stay out of that situation in the future, but they don't blame someone else.

"...found myself panicking and detaching during sex for many months afterwards..."

Apparently this particular girl learned nothing from it because she never accepted responsibility for what happened. Feminist propaganda crap.

Also, her "story" diminishes the trauma of real rape victims: When I was a senior in college, I dated a girl who had been abducted at knife point from a convinience store parking lot when she was 14. She was taken to a remote corn field and raped for several hours. She was 22 when we dated and it still affected her. Although she did not "panic and detach" from sex, I know it still haunted her dreams.

Back then, the man was never at fault; now, the woman is never at fault.

There is no perfect society or leader. There are only good men and women trying to make the best of their situation. Unfortunately, the good must contend with the destroyers of all that is good.

This less-than-romantic denouement produces the “roll and scream:

Now that's funny.

Women, faced with the same situation — the morning after regret following the night before — are now encouraged to place the blame elsewhere for their own conduct and to cry rape.

You remember the incident at Annapolis that CDR Sala reported on.

This indicates that if [female students] are raped it could be their fault—it is never their fault

No, it is not their fault. It is your fault, convenient fellow traveler of the enemies of humanity.

I would never allow my staff or myself to send the message it is the victim’s fault due to their dress or lack of restraint in any way.

But, of course, you will never allow your staff or yourself to send the message that it is you and your allies that are creating more victims.

These early (and rational) feminists

The issue is very simple. People who cared about protecting women aren't interested in making more women victims. The utopian Leftist cowards, however, are very interested in making more victims. That's the only difference that matters.

It makes all of them enemies of each other.

Perpetual warfare is a required initiation challenge for a member of the Left.

Without warfare and strife, socialism and totalitarianism would lack purpose.
