Do you still get the honorific of “human being” if you celebrate the bestial destruction of young life in this way? We all acknowledge that war means that people will die, but I’ve yet to see a civilized society respond to pure carnage — especially the slaughter of the innocents — in precisely this fashion. I’ll remind you of what, in America, triggered the big celebrations on the street: The end of war. Only beasts celebrate the killing during the war. Ergo, Palestinians have reduced themselves to the level of beasts.

This entire scenario is dreadful.
Hi Helen. I absolutely agree with you. The entire scenario is dreadful. The difference is in placing the blame. Conservatives blame the animals who target civilians and celebrate when they kill innocent civilians (and, by the way, hide their rockets behind their own civilians). Liberals blame those who do everything they can to prevent civilian deaths. So long as liberals (and, most of all, Israeli liberals) side with the animals, no peace will be possible.
The big difference is in what you are going to do about this “entire scenario”. Ensuring that it lasts forever, is not a just decision, regardless of your recognition.

If it works, and it does work, why not do it, Don.
Assuming the civilians are there willingly, I suppose nothing. But, then, it makes no sense to condemn the opponent for the civilian deaths that result. The Islamists hide their military behind civilians because it puts the other side in a no-win situation. If they don’t attack, the rockets fly at their own civilians. If they do attack, the international community condemns them for the deaths that were, in fact, caused by the Islamists.
The Islamists do it because it works. And it will work until the international community places the blame where it belongs. I’m not holding my breath.
An ugly people. There’s no other description for the celebration of the murder of innocents.
But, then, it makes no sense to condemn the opponent for the civilian deaths that result.
If you see your entire family and nation as requiring the destruction of an enemy, why wouldn’t you use every advantage available, Don? The advantage of having the moral high ground and creating international pressure on Israel is very viable as a strategic asset in warfare.

So those blaming Israel are on the side of the Islamists and helping them out. It makes perfect sense to me.
And it will work until the international community places the blame where it belongs.
I believe you are under the impression that the international community has a choice in the matter. I see them as dupes and tools, nothing more. Anyone that caters to their particular brand of nihilism, hatred, and prejudices can manipulate such cynical and decadent fools. The Islamic Jihad is just willing to sink to the level of the international community, while we aren’t. And even if tried, our system is too anathema to the international community, or what goes for it in these times, for us to convince them of anything. Unless we bribe them with a few cool mils of course.
On another note, if either side in a war waited until the “neutrals” living somewhere else on the planet came to place the blame on the right party, the war would last forever.
