It seems like the blacks in these 'hoods' are informing on the Latino gangs, and getting killed for it. If I was a cop I mights say, hey, if you want me to go after them, then you had better telling me what the gangs on your block are up too. Otherwise, as a cop, I am being 'played' to take sides--and I will only play the side of the law. Immigration is irrelevant. The issue is the inter-racial aspect of the murders. Several years ago, on one of my internet safaris, I came across the US Department of Justice’s web site. In looking over the murder statistics, I discovered that a white person had a 3-4 times the probability of being murdered by a black person than a black person had of being murdered by a white person. This was a straight murder to murder comparison, unadjusted for the disparity in the size of the groups in the overall population. If one believes in statistics at all, there certainly is a reason to examine the specifics of these inter-racial murders to see if there is a "hate crime" component. The fact that the government and the media want to and continue to ignore the implications of these statistics convinces me that all the "hate crime" legislation is hierarchical in nature and meant to re-inforce the political goals of the originators.
