Have you noticed the tone of reporting about the Chicago deaths that keep breaking out over the weekends?

There are “appeals for calm”, and reporters always note the “dangerous sharp upturn in gun violence”. There are “appeals for community involvement” to try to halt the violence.

In only one report did anyone even come close to mentioning the actual cause of all this. This was in one of the “appeals for community involvement” where the reporter then mentioned that the community involvement should assist in engaging the youths to control their behavior.

What we have in Chicago is a wild spasm, an outbreak of gang violence. (You can bet they don’t have gun permits or registered guns.) No one will mention gang violence, and all we get are warnings of “gun violence”. I’m sure the rampages of blue-haired old ladies who stream out of Luby’s at noon after lunch, firing from the hip at passers-by, are contributing to all this “gun violence.”

This is too, too similar to the French media characterization of violent jihadist young men as “youths”. A refusal to face reality – or a deliberate attempt to disguise reality – is always worrisome.

Since the MSM wouldn’t know the difference between a guerrilla, an insurgent, and a terrorist, you can pretty assume that the MSM is talking about terrorism when they use any one of those 3 terms. Freedom or resistance fighters included as well.

Obviously criticizing terrorism makes us as bad as the terrorists who are themselves fomenting hatred and distortions. Those that criticize terrorism are distorting the economic and “root causes”, like American Imperialism and bullying, that created the terrorism, you see.

I note the BBC report refers to “insurgent” groups and “militias” as recruiting children to for terrorist duties. As usual, any criticism of “insurgent tactics” is mitigated by the use of euphemisms for terrorist.

The liberal media want it both ways: they expect us to be horrified by the exploitation of children for violent purposes (which we are), but not to condemn as terrorists the brutes who are making use of them. There’s a deliberate confusion of moral issues here – but you have to think carefully to tease them out.

(That’s the point of my post title, by the way. Liberals are slow to grasp the obvious.)

Fake liberals only “grasp” things when it starts causing a negative drain on their bank accounts. Millions can starve and be kept in slavery and tyranny and fake liberals just go “it’s all good here”.
