It takes a writer time and work to put together thoughts about a topic, like Alger.

The least we readers can do is acknowledge the work. As Earl says, we can't let the author feel that all the effort was dropped into .".a black hole..".

I knew about Horatio Alger, and what his story was - even that there really was a guy by that name, that it wasn't just the name of a character in a book.

However, I'd never read any of his books! I found that part interesting, but with limited time, there didn't seem to be enough to say to take time to post.

It can't be fun to drop a post into what seems like a black hole, though.......sorry.

Great Stuff. Like the others I'd heard the name but didn't know anything about him. Although I haven't had time to comment much lately, I do enjoy this blog for the variety of interesting content.

I liked it too. Thanks for reminding us to serve up some well-desrved praise once in a while. It's easy to forget how much work you do.

Actually, I felt that it was very informative. I had always heard or read references to "Horatio Alger stories" but didn't quite know to what they referred. Your post filled in that missing part of my education. Speaking for myself, I generally don't post comments unless I feel that I have something to add. Sometimes, Book, your posts say it all. 'nuff said!
