Newsweak strikes again

I used to get Newsweak because my parents used to get Newsweak.  I stopped when Mr. Bookworm protested that he didn’t want to spend his money on that “trash.”  We were both liberals then (as he is now), but he knew bad thinking when he saw it.  Lord only knows what Mr. Bookworm would make of Newsweak’s latest foray into analysis, this time about vague conspiracy theories and the CIA.

The CIA, however, was kept in the dark. When the CIA and the State Department found out about the meetings a few weeks later, they strenuously protested to the White House and demanded that the contacts be terminated immediately. At least officially, the White House complied.

Obviously the Pentagon did not have the desire to read about these contacts on the front page of the New York Times.

Don’t you think carrying the “news-weak” theme is a bit too much?

If you never type it as newsweek, then it really starts looking like you’ve always thought about it like that ; )
