You posted on Vocaldente winning a SF competition not too long ago. Ya, the Germans long have had good group singing. I recall as a child listening time and again to an album of the Obernkirchen Children's choir- and also having the good fortune of hearing them in concert. Schutz 350-400 years ago put together unforgettable harmonies.

My ABBA memory. When I was working in the oilfield in Argentina we ate our evening meals at a local restaurant, which during the year plus I was there, played Chiquitita in Spanish every day. Perhaps that was the only song the restaurant played. I will always associate ABBA's Chiquitita with milanesa, pollo a la suiza, steak, good red and white wine, tomato salad, and flan with dulce de leche. We also got ABBA and more at the disco across the street from our staff house.
