There’s something about Obama’s friends….
Gateway Pundit has a post that posts that one of Obama’s current advisers might also be one of Iran’s more active friends. Even though, without further information, I’d acquit Obama of intentionally dealing with an Iranian agent or agitator, there’s absolutely no doubt that Obama is drawn to people with ideas hostile to America’s culture, interests and security.

Iran, like Saudi Arabia, has seen the benefits to having active agents and bribery programs operating inside the US State Department. Why not the rest of American politics as well, Book?
When one million can buy you a lot of bombs, that same million can buy you political influence and intelligence leaks from the US. Which, do you say, would be worth more on a per dollar basis?
I agree, YM. For the Clintons, it was the Chinese who profited. For Obama, perhaps it will be the Iranians that will have him in their pocket.
You’re right, BW, a man is known by the company he keeps — Trita Parsi, Jeremiah Wright, Bill Ayers, Louis Farrakhan, and others of their ilk — not to mention having Saul Alinsky as a mentor.
I live in a blue state (Washington), and it’s scary to see how many Obama bumper stickers are popping up. What can these people be thinking?

Well, I know what one Obama voter is thinking: Obama is smarter than McCain. When I said that Carter was too, he was clearly taken aback. It hadn’t seemed to occur to him that smart people can nevertheless make very, very bad decisions. Give me someone of average intelligence and good sense every time.
Given Obama’s ever-growing string of gaffes and expressions of sheer ignorance (57 States? The economy?), it would be very interesting to understand on what basis your Obama voter is convinced that Obama is “smarter” than McCain, Book?
Or, is it more of an emotional yawp premised on their conviction that Republicans have cooties?
The theme that that Democrats are brighter than Republicans, be they presidential candidates or even rank and file, has been around since Adlai Stevenson II’s two runs for President against Eisenhower in the fifties. Some may recall the bumper sticker some decades later: “Vote Republican. It’s Better than Thinking.”
I read one survey that said that Republicans in 2004 won the high school grads and those with bachelor degrees. The Democrats won high school dropouts and those with master’s degrees. One might think that Democrats winning those with master’s degrees would confirm the theory that Democrats are brighter, until one considers that a very high proportion of those master’s degrees are in education. No one has claimed lately that the brightest bulbs on the tree get education degrees. (disclaimer: I taught math for two years. IQ isn’t all you need to be a good teacher.)
A lot of Ph.D.s thought that Reagan was stupid and ignorant regarding his policy in Central America. Very few of those Ph.D.s realized that the Sandinistas had endorsed the Russian invasion of Afghanistan, back in March 1980. ( Central American Crisis Reader)
