Hate for the enemy is all nice and good, but once must hate them for the right reasons, not the reasons we wish to have. That is not the path of discipline and honor.

The prefered position I would have taken would be recognizing that the photo is not so much fake, as a pardoy of Code Pink’s messages. So thus, the real evidence of Code Pink should be included along with the translation of Code Pink’s message.

This is part of the art of propaganda where deception and manipulation is used to tell a truth. It is also part of rhetoric and charisma. A vital thing to politicians and what not.

Good propaganda would be,

While agreeing that the fake quote may accurately characterize Code Pink’s positions, it MUST be taken down and replaced by something that Code Pink actually said themselves. Otherwise, we appear no better than the opposition……and the occurrence will be used anytime you say something they want to invalidate.

So, this isn’t the false but accurate of George Bush, where the Left had no independent evidence at all that Bush tried to avoid his duties. They made it up out of whole cloth, and then claimed that the canard proved itself.

Here, the photoshop is indeed virtually indistinguishable from the real deal. Proving, as I’ve long thought, that the loony left is making satire and parody impossible.

What I meant is that, unlike Bush who hadn’t at all avoided his service obligations, Code Pink has said precisely the same kind of things. This is a pithier version, but real quotations from the Code Pink sponsored picketing at the Berkeley Marine Recruiting station are the same (some of these come from Code Pink, some from the fellow travelers they attract):
