If you know of a perfect day, a day that will never occur, all your other days will be gloomy in comparison.

This means compared to perfection, imperfection is always inferior. Since imperfection is 99% of the time, and maybe 99.9999999 to infinity % of the time, most people are going to be miserable if all they think of are days that won’t ever occur.

One of the reasons why Bush got hammered politically is cause his advisers weren’t worth jack. He needed Dick Morris. But he didn’t get him, for one reason or another.

  • suek

I have mixed feelings about Dick Morris. I recognize that he has some sort of political genius, but I always get the impression that he’s a sleaze. Not that he’s wrong – just that I’m not sure that I’d want to work with him even if I wanted him on my team. No real reason for that – just one of those things. Maybe because he worked so hard for Bill Clinton, and since has been so derogatory about Hillary. I know the he isn’t she, but still….

  • Zhombre

Suek, it’s not an impression. Morris is sleazy. He hired prostitutes, for openers. That’s well known. But he knows how the game is played, has the knowledge and the instinct for it, and is worth listening to.

So are you saying he shouldn’t talk or write about Hillary’s character assassination policies against her opponents?

    >>So are you saying he shouldn’t talk or write about Hillary’s character assassination policies against her opponents?>>

Mmmmmm….no…..he just seems to have a real animus against Hillary that seems inconsistent with what _seemed_ to be his position about both of them before. It could be that he simply didn’t say anything about Hillary while he was working for Bill and I just don’t remember the absence of comments. He doesn’t say much about Bill now – but then, Bill was running then and Hillary is running now. I think it’s just that usually there’s a “no speak” rule of some sort, but he’s really negative about Hillary – both politically and personally.

    Refresh my memory here, then.

Whenever Clinton or Hillary was able to get rid of political opponents like with Bill’s sexual liasions, was Dick Morris publicly in support of the various black mail and so forth operations going on behind the scenes; as in publicly in support of?

If he wasn’t providing flak or public justifications of such things, then why would it be “inconsistent” with his behavior now?

  • Ymarsakar

Dick Morris, from what I’ve gathered from his newsletters and comments about Bill and Hillary, is that he was able to collect important psychological and behind the scenes policy creations of the Clintons while they were in the White House.

Dick Morris, for example, spoke about BIll’s early life and his abusive and alcoholic father as the path which led to Bill’s extraordinary dependence and sensitivity to public devotion and emotion.

If his comments about Hillary’s actions are more negative, it is probably because Hillary’s actions were more negative, at least directly. If you count up Bill’s appointed folks like Gorelick, Janet Reno, George Tenet, Dick Clark, Sandy Berger, and the various other goon squads, you will have seen that those folks caused more terror and misery to the American people than anything Hillary Clinton did directly.

But that’s not saying much given how Hillary was one person and only a Senator and First Wife. She was never given any official office in the Executive Branch, so her actions, the ones Dick saw, were almost always cloak and daggers, and thus more ruthless as well as being more effective.

As for why DIck Morris is now positioning himself against the Clintons, perhaps it may be said that neo-cons are not solely created from classical liberals.

Dick Morris is always pragmatic, like when he advised Clinton to sign the welfare reforms and Clinton didn’t want to. Morris sees the “good”, perhaps, as being directly based out of wise and sound political decisions. I don’t know whether he is a classical liberal or not, but he doesn’t need to be. Morris, for whatever reason, saw how the Clintons operated and disagreed with their policies and perhaps even philosophy.

For such a man, who is fully cognizant of how politics works and how to win without cheating, even he could no longer tolerate Leftist and “new Democrats”.

Morris made a lot of money working for people like the Clintons. Now he makes a lot of money trashing them.

Morris may be a very smart political operative. I don’t know that that has been proven. He is much like the vaunted Clinton machine. With the help of Ross Perot, they beat Bush 41, who thought he didn’t really have to campaign. They beat the hapless Bob Dole with less than half the vote. Hillary beat no one for the New York Senate seat. Suddenly, they were unbeatable, and the media and the Washington blatherers declared them the smartest political operatives in the world. Now they aren’t so smart. Go figure.

During the primary season, Dick Morris was convinced that Hillary was going to be the Democrat presidential nominee

Moris joked to Bill O’Reilly that he (Morris) was going to move to So. America if Hillary was elected. Was Morris so blind-sided by the obvious MSM support for Obama during the primaries?

Morris had very good insight into the personalities and abilities of the Clintons.

Where is the sombody with the same info on the Obamas and their advisors?
I’m sure there is at least a someone who knows, but the MSM will definitely put them out of commission up thru November 4th. After that, it won’t matter.

I’m with Z, suek. I’ve never forgotten the prostitute scandal, but facts are facts, and Morris seems to be one of the few who has consolidated in one place Obama’s actual policy plans and their ramifications.
