>>The Arab definition for inshallah is “if Allah wills it”.
The American definition for inshallah,... is “if the government makes it work”.>>

Ah yes, Ymar...but since with totalianism or statism, the government _is _ allah - or god - they're really one and the same.

And part of communication, not to mention propaganda, is to constantly beat people upside the head with these mental contradictions until something inside them breaks and then rebuilds themselves.

If you just leave people's psyches alone to be manipulated by the gas prices they see on the pump every day or so or by the media's anti-American and pro-blood sport culture, you're not going to get a well educated populace, let alone a population with personal initiative.

Just beat them on the head once in awhile with things they feel scorn towards, like say Arabs in Iraq who they don't want to help, and make them the targets of their own antipathy and prejudices.

If you don't beat them on the head, well they just aren't going to get any smarter. If they won't do the thinking, then you have to at least nudge them in the right direction.

Reagan and Churchill didn't do their people's thinking, they just nudged them along with certain phrases and words.

The Arab definition for inshallah is "if Allah wills it".

The American definition for inshallah, in a way that a person without any knowledge of Arabic would instantly understand, is "if the government makes it work".
