This would likely be tied to some deal with the Iranians. If Israel went along with this deal...and Iran agreed to suspend its own nuclear program...then Israel would be at serious risk of defeat by a coordinated Iranian/Arab attack with conventional fores. If Israel refused to go along with the deal...as it almost certainly would...then Obama would have an excuse for denying American military and industrial cooperation with Israel. Given that Israel is too small to be economically and militarily self-sufficient, such an isolation effort--especially if supported by European powers--could be cripplig.
