This is the way to run a campaign

In an earlier post, I huffed and puffed because I hadn’t been able to make contact with the local Republicans for McCain.  I’d offered my services some time ago and nobody got back to me.  Well, I finally made contact and I retract all the snarky things I said.  I attended a delightful meeting with a lot of very energized people.   It turns out that the long-time volunteers, the ones who have been affiliated with the organization for a while, have already done a great deal of work contacting local Republicans and updating the voter database.  I was quite impressed.  The group is well organized and enthusiastic.

The group also wants to take the McCain campaign into the 21st Century (that is, have a vibrant web presence), to which I say, it’s about time.  You’ll be hearing more about the goings-on here, including what I hope will be a long post, with lots of data (non-attributed, of course), about the very large numbers of crypto-conservatives in Marin County.  I knew they were here — heck, I’m here — but now I’m finally going to get to meet some of them.

More blogging tomorrow, although I really have to wrap up a brief.  (And yes, DQ, I will easily, I hope, meet Friday’s filing deadline.  That case we discussed is not a worry.)

The people at the bottom are usually motivated and gung ho, if they are volunteers. It’s the people at the top you have to worry about, when you see lackadaisical response times.
