Bush would cut from the same cloth. I agree that future historians will judge GWB much better than he is judged by contemporary, ideologically-blinkered historians. This is not the time of rational judgments. It will be the same with G.W. Bush. When we are saddled with a CiC who waffles, wiggles and twists himself to public opinion, people will look back with fondness at the man who threw opinion polls into the fireplace. Certainly his administration has made some colossal mistakes, but so does every admin. But on the major role of the CiC, Bush has done the right thing. The other day, I was watching the news and President Bush was speaking somewhere about something - I don't remember what. And all I could see was exhaustion. Almost weariness. I pray for him. I pray that when he returns home to Texas that he gets time to just spend time relaxing surrounded only by those who love him and respect him. I know half of the country honestly believes that he is ignorant - and that is when they are being "polite." But he isn't. He's intelligent and, more importantly, wise.
