Obama’s unabashed socialism and its probable outcome

At McCain-Palin 2008, Ferny spells out in very simple language exactly what will happen if Obama and a Democratic Congress come into power:  pure socialism, with all the attendant negatives.  He’s bewildered by the thought that people, with 80 years of history spread out behind them, not to mention current affairs at home and abroad, think that they can enjoy the benefits of capitalism while creating a purely socialist government.

    Hi BW.
    The reason so few Americans fail to see the abyss they are heading for is because they have not been taught failures of socialism and the evils of Communism. And that failure is in part due to the liberal takeover of much of our educational system.

    Here’s a very good Wall St. Journal Opinion piece with some effects probably with an Obama presidency and a filibuster-proof congress.

    Though we doubt most Americans realize it, this would be one of the most profound political and ideological shifts in U.S. history. Liberals would dominate the entire government in a way they haven’t since 1965, or 1933. In other words, the election would mark the restoration of the activist government that fell out of public favor in the 1970s. If the U.S. really is entering a period of unchecked left-wing ascendancy, Americans at least ought to understand what they will be getting, especially with the media cheering it all on.

    What may be most disturbing is that since the media filters have announced their allegience, any negative consequences visited on the country from leftist policies will never be attributed to their true causes.
