The slow-motion insurgency in Pakistan is picking up pace in short order, and the elected Pakistani government shows no signs of stopping its rapid descent into disorder, fracture and weakness. What was once the Pakistani tinderbox has become a blaze, and Al-Qaeda is feeding the flames. And while all is not lost, there is little to instill confidence that the blaze will recede and avoid an inferno.

Ready for some on the job training, Mr. Obama?

The mother who wrote the letter to blow the whistle should get involved in the schools. The mother of a child in school has enormous power –use it!

Obviously he had nothing to do with the publisher’s decision to devote 15 pages of the text toward him but this is dangerous not only for us (which I know does not concern him) but for him. This pendulum can only swing so far – sooner or later, people are going to get sick of this sort of thing . . . this constant worship . . .

Ugh.

I’d love to know how many pages they devoted to, say, Washington, Jefferson, and Lincoln.

Then again, if I knew, I’d probably be sick to my stomach.
