The few, the proud

You all know that, much as I admire our armed forces generally, and our Navy particularly, I have a special spot in my heart reserved entirely for the Marines.  Laer has yet another story illustrating just why the Marines are a special breed.

    What a great story!!

You know, I know that other people who are not in the military would have done the same thing. It’s just that with military folks, they never seem to even think that they have an alternative to doing what is right. It’s one of the many reasons I love them.

There is a great selection of photos of a very special marine coming home to Billings, Montana, from Iraq at this site:

Take a look at them. The image of a marine in dress blues with a war bonnet on is something to see.

Here’s a nice flash video that is on GoDaddy.com by the CEO of the company.

    Happy 233nd
Birthday to the United States Marine Corps!

If this doesn’t work I’ll send the http link.

Typical Marines, acting like they have power over their lives and responsibility for them. Would it have hurt them to wait for the proper authorities to arrive to address the fire? :)

I feel like Debbie Downer when I say this, but I think the Obamaites are going to go after the Marines with a venegeance.

I don’t know what humiliations they have in mind — elimination of Marine recruiting centers in liberal strongholds like Berkeley; cutbacks in funding; the forced homosexualization of the Corps — but watch for their contempt to spill over.

    Mike –

    Excellent video!

I’ve been thinking an awful lot about the military the past couple of days. Can’t help but wonder what the average soldier or marine thinks about how an Obama presidency will affect national security.

They totally disobeyed the police when the Chicago police said “if somebody wants to go into your home and steal something, just let them since it is safer that way”.

Just so we understand each other, your military heart belongs to the:
    1. United States Navy, the World’s Finest Navy
    2. USMC (close second)
    3. Everybody else
    :)

What can I say? I have a big heart when it comes to our armed forces. How can you not love people who willingly put their lives on the line for you every single day?
