It is a crime against humanity on the part of Democrats, Book, which we fight everyday. And in that fight we can improve America's prestige and reputation as the beacon of liberty.

combustible fat from the rats in all the Obamavilles that His Nibs is going to create.

Interesting reference. Btw, did you get the name "Charles Martel" from the defender of Vienna?

>> The materfamilias, a very handsome woman, spoke great English, was very intelligent and was the obvious heart of and power to be reckoned with in that family. >>

Since this impressive, wonderful woman is not allowed to go to the mountain, I wonder if she has the power to make the mountain come to her?

I, too, saw the Anthony Bourdain show on Saudi Arabia.

It was good and I agree - the woman featured in that show was really amazing. It was clear that the show (and I think the Saudi government) did their darndest not to focus on the extreme lack of freedom that Saudi women must endure. Still, I couldn't help but wonder what that woman could achieve there if she were unshackled.

With regard to Bookworm's post - yes, this story could be something straight out of the Middle Ages, with all the requisite excessiveness and darkness.

I recently caught the tail end of an Anthony Bourdain "No Reservations" program where he was visiting Saudi Arabia.

The segment I saw was where he was sitting around the table with an extended Saudi family, obviously having a great time.

The materfamilias, a very handsome woman, spoke great English, was very intelligent and was the obvious heart of and power to be reckoned with in that family.

What a shame that somebody like her is effectively restricted to the confines of her home by one of the most woman-hating societies on earth.

Alas, the day we "achieve energy independence" will probably mean we've finally mastered harvesting the combustible fat from the rats in all the Obamavilles that His Nibs is going to create.
