No, I'm not gay...and I love to dance. Just saying there are lots of gay men in the armed services, always were and always will be. And yes, I think there is a good chance that some if not all of the men in that video are gay.
But gay or not gay, they have my deepest gratitude for serving this country...and I'm happy to see them dancing.

Are you saying, Scott, that only gay men like and can dance? That's a little heterophobic, isn't it?

Yeah, it just reminds me how little sympathy I have for the gays around me who whine that they lost prop 8. Obviously the armed forces are full of gay men who can't come out of the closet. The people who say they care about gay rights have had 7 years of war in which demanding rights for gay enlisted men would have been perceived as morally righteous.

Oh well, we've all still got reasons to party!

Deana:

You and I share the same eye!

As it is, I was also impressed by how beautifully they moved. I shouldn't be surprised, though. People who are in good shape and athletic tend to bring that athleticism to everything they do -- including dancing.

My goodness.

The, um, backsides of those guys are just . . .wow.

Which is not to say that I don't also appreciate the extraordinary work they do. (hee-hee!)

If you watch as one of the Marines walks past the camera, you can see his name (stitched on a piece of fabric) over his right back pocket. They do this for shipboard efficiency. It is easy to tell whose uniform it is during laundry, etc. Nearly every week as I walk in to work, I am looking at the utilities of a Sailor in front of me to see who it is. Since I work with a lot of civilians, it probably looks a little untoward. But in the Navy, since we tuck our utes in (the uniform that looks like janitor chinos, light blue top, dark blue pants), you can always read who you are approaching. This uniform is scheduled to go away soon, to be replaced by grey and blue camouflage, no joke.
