Tell you what, though: Hollywood’s a lot easier if you’re a Scientologist. Lots of actors - but also lots of producers, directors, writers, tech people, etc. - it doesn’t hurt in the “career advancement” department to be one. They have a tendency to help each other out,and they’re strong in that town.

Hollywood's always been a cult of one sort or another.

And it was like… well, yeah, that’s what *would* happen.

That is what would have happened if Indy knew how violence worked and the guy with the sword just thought showing the weapon would make it work for him.

Don't be the guy getting the violence done upon. Be the guy doing it. Cause that's the guy that gets to walk away safe.

I'd heard a story that the script had a big fight in it, but that Harrison Ford was sicker than a dog that day and pulled his pistol and shot the guy.

And it was like... well, yeah, that's what *would* happen.

And they went with it.

I think the new ultra-ultra-ultra sensitive Spielberg regrets that scene and wishes he could go back in time and purge it.

I however will always find it remarkably worthy.

It's actually a beautiful, if a little whacky, place. Just a few blocks down the street from my favorite small Hollywood hotel where I always stay when I need to be in LA or Hollywood. Oddly enough, it's in a very quiet, highly residential part of West Hollywood, right across the street (the street is Franklin Avenue) from Bird's and Prizzi's - two local neighborhood hangouts with sidewalk cafe tables that are busy at all times. Impossible for Tom Cruise to sneak in and out unobserved by the eagle-eyed locals!

Have to laugh, though. The Scientology Celebrity Center? Okay - where's the Catholic Celebrity Center? Where's the Jewish Celebrity Center?

Oh. Yeah. Those don't have "celebrity centers," do they?

The place is a nice old building, though. Very nice. Very "old Hollywood." I don't know what it used to be before the scientologists came along, but it's a lovely old place.
