I remember teaming up with Don Quixote soon after I whupped Islamic ass at Tours.

He was a strange, dude, though. We divided up our targets in a campaign somewhere in northern Spain.

My guys took out about 20,000 Moors.

Don took out about 200 of their windmills.

All in all, not a bad day.

It's the Swiss that are neuters.

The Swedish, too, if I'm not mistaken.

Re #4: Y, sometimes you are absolutely scary in your insights

I chalk it up to my moderately long history here, reading you, Book.

Part of analysis is not just crunching numbers or odds but also memorizing the small details to be used later: like now.

The mark of an accurate analyst is not whether he has an open mind or a closed one, but whether he can tie the puzzle pieces together from any number of data points. This requires a selective opening and closing of one's mind, rather than a default state called 'open" or "closed".

In my early days here in Bookland, I was one of those who assumed DQ was Book's husband. When Book (gently) corrected me, it was quite embarrassing!

And recently, onmy first encounters with Ozzie here, I thought Ozzie was a guy. And we temporarily had a visitation from a fellow, late October timeframe - who thought so VERY, VERY highly of himself! - whose pseudonym had me convinced for a few days that he was a she. Ah, those pernicious assumptions.

Re #4: Y, sometimes you are absolutely scary in your insights, although I will add that Mrs. DQ is an exceptional and wonderful person, and I delight in her friendship as much as I do in DQ's -- I just see her less often.

I’m also grateful that his wife is a generous and wonderful soul who recognizes that ours is a true platonic friendship, and makes the friendship even stronger by being a cheerful, intelligent and interesting participant in our lunches whenever she is available.

I bet you did that just to avoid reading all those comments praising your "husband" ; )

Who knew I’d love tackling people and taking them down?

*raises hand* I had faith in you, Book, that you'd show them what's what.

Have a safe and wonderful Thanksgiving, Book. You deserve it, woman.

I’m thankful, for better or worse, that the election is over.

It is not the beginning of the end. At best, it is the end of the beginning.

Thank you Bookworm for this blog. Your posts are thought provoking, and it is a great privilege to share cyber space with some incredibly thoughful people.

I thank the God of the Universe that made himself known to us through his Son, Jesus, and demonstrated his love toward us. And today God patiently calls for all to return to him.

I'm thankful, for better or worse, that the election is over.

Have a great Thanksgiving, all.
