Conservatives deal with facts and reach conclusions; liberals have conclusions and sell them as facts.

By the way, I’m repeatedly using the phrase Death Eaters in the hope that liberals who fully accept the Harry Potter world might be convinced that those same principles actually apply here. I’ve long held that, no matter J.K. Rowling’s politics (and I’ve since learned she’s a Labor supporter), in the purity of her imagined world, she fully understands that nature of terrorism and the way in which one needs to win.

Well, I definitely hoped that you weren't using the phrase to convince me of such things.

I prefer David Weber's world over fantasy ones, actually. They are more realistic and faithful to the human condition.

Btw, Book, what did you think about my answer to that little meme you posted a few months ago?

In a certain sense, while we in the West are in our quiescent appeasement phase, our "cultural recorders" are on, recording everything the jihadist Muslims are doing to us.

They are relying on us to remain in this quiescent appeasement phase. That could be a very large mistake. Because if we turn, and with our "cultural memory recorders" filled with everything they have been and will continue to be doing, payback will not be kind.

They wish for the mushroom cloud above the infidel city... and as the saying goes, "Be careful what you wish for, because you may get it." And in this case, what they may get is the full force of an awakened and enraged West - or enough of the West awakened and enraged to do the job.

At the end of Robert Heinlein's novel, "The Puppet Masters," men are boarding spaceships by the tens of thousands to travel to Titan, the home world of alien parasites that have attacked the earth. When they arrive, they will administer a little payback.

The book's last two words are:

Death and destruction!

When it comes to Islamism, I second the sentiment.
