Perhaps he could start with his half-brother, who lives on $1 per week? month? in Kenya. And his auntie in Boston, whom he so loved, apparently, but not enough to send her $100 per month, to help her out, living in one of the worst Boston slums.

It’s nice to give money away to those you wish to help. Not so nice to have it forcibly taken from you (supposedly to more equitably share with those in need).

Indeed. Making laws for people to give more money to the Salvation Army or those orgs like it wouldn’t buy you too much political power from the Unions and other Special Interests, now would it.

I agree that he should give it away to people who need it far more than he, but to give it to the government would be to basically piss it away. The government is so inefficient that only a fraction of that money will get to those who are in need. Instead, he should give it to a reputable charity like the Salvation Army. At least then the money will be spent better and it will actually get to the people who need it instead of feeding the bureaucratic beast.

Of course, Obama would never do that because his entire believe system is based upon the largess of the US government.
