Can you watch this:
Without being remind of this?
UPDATE: Although I missed it, a friend who was listening to Rush today called me to tell me that Rush made the same connection. Do you think he’s reading my blog, or could it just be that I was lucky enough to tap into Rush’s train of thought? (And why do I suspect the latter?)

This is why the Founding Fathers put in so many checks and balances in the Constitution, along with the Bill of Rights. They didn’t trust each other and they sure as shat didn’t trust their descendants not to lose the inheritance.
Ymarsakar: I found your observation amusing although I realize it was not intended to be comical.
So much for checks and balances. Politicians write them and the taxpayers watch them bounce like a rubber ball.
Great YouTube video and true. I have a few suggestions for politicians but none of them are legal, Funny how that works. Not sure if this quote is exactly correct but it’s from GWTW. :”Frankly my dear:I don’t give a damn” I’m sure you fine people will know what I am trying to explain.
Greetings:
Was this that same guy who spent two of his four years in the people’s Senate seat running for President?
Obama’s rise to the presidency has gifted the Chicago politicians with the biggest piggy bank of all to loot. Since life is not only reflected by art, but can be anticipated by it, I am sure there are other famous movie scenes which illustrate corrupt acts by Obama and Co. yet to be unearthed. One I am routing for is the part in the “Untouchables” where Sean Conory’s cop character shows Ness where a brewery is, under the Post Office, I think.

But that’s how we’re supposed to know he’s qualified!
On life imitating art:
I’m struck by today’s news about Maddow’s investment bank Ponzi scheme having defrauded investors of what looks like about $50 billion. The impact is being felt most among the high-flying society, ie Palm Beach and Long Island, which came up frequently in the news this morning.
Life imitating art? Having finished ‘Atlas Shrugged’ over the Thanksgiving weekend, I can only say, it reminded me completely of the panic scene at the party where Franscisco D’Anconia’s assets were found to be worthless. What Ayn Rand described (back in the 50’s!) is a perfect template for how these poor rich people have been behaving yesterday. Just another point she nailed.
And did anyone who has read the book notice that most of the nefarious behavior she described was a direct result of government/industry collusion and rank protectionism of special interests/political allies? That again, so eerily reflects what is going on, on a massive scale, today.
