Celebrity conservatives

A friend sent me a link with pictures and thumbnail sketches of celebrities who are conservatives.  Some I knew, some were a surprise.  As for all of them, I wish they had more heft amongst the younger generation.

Interesting. They left off Joe Perry from Aerosmith, and I have my sneaking suspicions about Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie.

I wonder, with the Democrats so ascendant and Bush and Cheney out of the picture, it won’t be fun to dump on the Republicans any more. Won’t the movie studios start sneaking conservative messages into their flicks to stick it to the Man in DC? Won’t the oh so kewl toss Che out and put Reagan on their t-shirts?

    We can only hope.

Well, I know a sign from God when I see it: If Buffy the Vampire Slayer is a GOPette, it means we’re gonna kick butt in 2010.

While many on this list might be registered as Republicans, I wonder how many are RINO’s. The Chief RINO on the list is the “Governator” himself. But then I have become cynical about all things political.

Arnold created many propositions for the people of California to vote on. The people of California told him to do the job instead of putting it to the people. So Arnold did his job, which being a politician, meant making compromises with the Legislature. And given the composition of the legislature of California, the results are inevitable.

When the people don’t want to rule themselves, they will have to be satisfied with being ruled by others.

As for all of them, I wish they had more heft amongst the younger generation.

The screen writers, producers, and directors have the most heft for it is they who decide which movies get made and which aren’t. Those like Mel Gibson, director and producer and with lots of money, can make their own movies, independent of Hollyweird dogma.

Bush never used Hollywood the way FDR did. Bush could easily have done so, but he did not.

Very true. The year (or maybe 2 years) after he was elected, he had 4 (I think) propositions on the ballot that he said he needed in order to put through the changes that needed to be made to cut the budget. Due to advertising – mostly by the unions – the voters of the state rejected all four props. Having had all of his needed tools rejected by the voters, he didn’t have a lot of choice. Well, maybe he did, but don’t forget that his wife is a Kennedy. Talk about “sleeping with the enemy”!!
Unfortunately, his wife probably raises the kids – Ahnold doesn’t seem to know how to say NO!!
