I remember to look on her face when I told the last moppet who shook a UNICEF can at me on Halloween that I don’t contribute to organizations that shield child molesters.

The UN has been perpetuating the Palestinian Problem just like the Un creates ethnic cleansings in Rwanda and Darfur They don't wield the machetes that cut people down, no, but they do create and sustain and protect the conditions that allow such things to be born.

Democrats see conservatives as keepers of the status quo, regardless of whether the status quo is bad or corrupt. Democrats see conservatives as knee jerk reactionaries and luddites to such technological advances as stem cell research. Democrats see our desire for a strong military as signs of our bloodthirst and need to make war on the helpless and the weak.

Coincidentally, the Democrats had always been looking in a mirror when they were talking about conservatives.

It’s not important or even relevant how the GazaAid money is spent. The exigent thing is for filthy rich artists in the West to be seen working for the right causes to assuage their consciences and keep their hands clean. Tnere’s a telling line in Graham Greene’s novel The Quiet American: “We were liberals and didn’t want a bad conscience.” No matter how many people had to die so that conscience stayed clean.

Would that aid be on top of the millions promised by the EU and the millions all ready spent. Money to Gaza is like the economic bailout to the banks – no one knows where or how the money is dispensed other than for more rockets.

Added to the mix of comments and suggestions above; let’s not forget that the USA has given more than $50b to Egypt, who speaks/acts with a fork tongue.

Surely, the investment has not covered the hundreds of tunnels into Egypt, which has been the Gaza/Hamas’ supply route over the years. Unless and until Egypt does its part, the cycle continues.

Peace can only exist if the leaders of each faction already control all territories and armed forces in question. The Israelis have this control, over Israeli citizens and armies at least, but the Arabs do not. Thus peace deals cannot be between Israel, as one entity, and the Arabs, as another entity. It would have to be made individually between countless leaders, potentates, and princes, each representing their own little niche.

This means that there will be no peace should at least one faction decide that there is not one. Peace is infinitely harder to produce in such conditions than if each side only had one central authority to make deals with.

This is the reality known to true diplomats, but not to the fake wannabes in the world.

Alas, Israel, like the sheriff in “High Noon,” now stands alone.

On paper, your suggestion seems plausible. But I can see some pitfalls. For one thing, all Arab armies are badly led, ill-equipped, inefficient, demoralized entities that simply are not up to dealing with savages like Hamas.

We know from 1,400 years of experience that Muslims will kill one another at the drop of a hat, so the fact that the new occupiers are Arabs rather than Jooos will not stop Hamas from resisting them with murderous means.

Even if you put the Arab armies under the UN, you’ll then invite the child rape, rampant bribery and corruption that are the hallmarks of UN intercessions. Hamas will simply continue doing what the UN occupation ostensibly is there to stop.

I think the best solution is for Israel to continue killing as many Hamas radicals as possible, ignoring the international outcry from the usual suspects. If our luck had been better and the United States had elected a man as its new president, we could have looked forward to American help for Israel.

Alas, Israel, like the sheriff in “High Noon,” now stands alone.

The conclusive solution to silence radical Palestinian groups will be to establish an international military force to police Gaza and the West Bank headed by a contagion of forces from the more secular Arab countries to ensure the smooth transition to a strong Palestinian state. If there is a well crafted plan to create a Palestinian state, I think most of the Arab countries will readily send troops to help develop a viable Palestinian state.
A peaceful Middle East will definitely have a lot of ramifications. A peaceful Middle East will stem the tide and accelerate a decline in radical Islam. There is no greater hope than that the Israelis and Palestinians get tired of their tortuous past full of wars then sit down and work towards a peaceful Middle East.
