Cold, cold, cold

Before children, I was very skinny — and cold a lot of the time.  Post children, I gained a few pounds, something I found hard to reconcile with my lifelong self image, but I did enjoy the unexpected benefit of being warm for the first time.

Now I’ve got the worst of both worlds.  With all the martial arts, I’ve traded padding for muscle so, though toned, I don’t look skinny, but I’ve still managed to lose my insulation, so I’m cold again.  Brrr….

On a different topic, I had a lovely get together with a group of conservative women today.  We’re looking at ways to organize locally and nationally, since we all perceive a leadership vacuum in the Republican party.  That was the big part.  The little part was the sheer pleasure of being in a room of intelligent, kind kindred spirits.  My body was cold, but it warmed my soul.  I also have a lot of ideas circulating in my brain for a couple of blog posts, but haven’t yet been able to consolidate them into coherent form.
