Years ago I was helping a neighbor with his goat which wasn’t doing well. He was very old and not very physically able, and had not been checking her with any regularity. He knew she was due to kid, but hadn’t seen any signs of imminent kidding, but she hadn’t been up and moving about either. It was immediately apparent to me that she was in real trouble, and I told him he needed to call the vet. The vet showed up, and it seemed that the kid was breech and she’d been in labor for a _long_ time. It was also pretty apparent that she was going downhill. While we were there, she suddenly took a turn for the worse, and it was clear that she wasn’t going to make it. The vet turned and said he was going to his truck for the medication he needed to euthanize her…and commented as he left that he needed to hurry. I was flabbergasted – in fact, she died while he was getting the stuff – but she was so obviously dying that there really didn’t seem to be any need to rush to euthanize her. I still don’t know if he just thought it was “wrong” to let her die on her own or if he was worried about his fee – I just know I was shocked by what _appeared_ at least, to be a need to get paid for more than just a vet call.

This stimulus bill reminds me of this incident – the Congress and the President are in a big rush to get it done before the economy begins to recover on its own. They have to hurry – there are signs that we may be turning around and if we don’t hurry, we may not be able to use the economic recession as an excuse to get this big spending bill passed. What’s the rush? If we really need the “medicine”, take your time, and get the medication and the dosage right.

I’ve been likening the money in the “stimulus” plan to the watch in Somewhere in Time. You know, the one old Jane Seymour gives to young Christopher Reeve, who goes back in time and gives it to young Jane Seymour, who grows old and gives it to young Christopher Reeve, who…well, you get the idea. But the story glosses over where the watch actually came from, much as 0bama neglects to mention where he plans to get the trillion dollars it’s so important for him to spend.

WHY is it so confusing to liberals to understand that the government doesn’t have any of its OWN money, it’s all ours to begin with?

So, what happens now?

There’s not going to be an angel that descends and gives Obama any more character or intelligence than he has now–or Joe Biden or Nancy Pelosi. We are stuck with the stupidest, most craven gang of narcissists ever to afflict this country.

Yes, the press, which is almost totally devoid of insight or ethics, will begin the assault against Obama. Maybe it will harbor a fantasy of Biden succeeding The One and naming Hillary as his VP, then bowing out as his head, like Obama’s, explodes from having to actually think and lead.

Hillary wins after all.

That’s the optimistic scenario.

I don’t even want to think what the alternatives to that might be.
