Jon Stewart, the scorpion *UPDATE*

True to his nature, Stewart attacks.  I can’t think of a more worthy target:

UPDATE: Speaking of scorpions being true to their nature, Maureen Dowd has also been honest enough to take a crack at the spendulus debacle. I admire her for that.

I enjoyed the hell out of this. I’m no Stewart fan, but I can appreciate his willingness to poke at places the lapdogs in the MSM won’t.

Here’s what I’m hoping: Since so many young people actually depend on Stewart for their (distorted) news, perhaps his putdowns of Obama will peel away those Grade-A blinders they have on.

Watching Obama, which is something I try to avoid, is just painful. I don’t see that he is any more articulate than Bush, although he has better enunciation and a more pleasant tone.

But I do see one very telling difference: Bush, as painfully awkward as he would be when he was trying to speak, at least knew what he was trying to say. He had a base of knowledge, insights and real convictions. Obama is simply empty. He is not a well-educated or well-read man, and he has spent so much time being a chameleon that you can actually see the gears grinding behind his eyes: “Iran. Muslims. Green. What is green? Can’t quite remember what it looks like. Do I have any on? What color combo am I now? Maybe divert: Talk about what nice people the Persians are.”

The sooner he is exposed for the lightweight that he is, the better the chance conservatism will have to make a strong, articulate, adult case for itself.

On the other hand, the road will soon be open for Reid, Pelosi and Fwank to run roughshod over this wuss (although I think they’ll have to get in line behind Michelle).

Stewart has to make a living and Obama has given him a great stimulus, which Stewart will exploit with enthusiasm. Good for him. As for Obama, jeez, people thought this android was a ‘visionary’ and compared him to Lincoln? We are living in Bizarro World.

Sorry to be picky, but it’s Jon, not John, Stewart. Full name Jonathan Stuart Leibowitz.

Not picky at all — we like accuracy here. I’ve just never been a fan, so I don’t pay much attention to the minutiae about him.

Stewart is one of our better satirists, at least in the visual broadcast medium. It’s good to see that he will, in fact, go after anybody, anything.

The idea of the “yell your words into Obama’s pauses” college drinking game was hilarious and, I thought, brilliant. Scathing and targetted at those twenty-somethings who will – quite literally – drink it up. Incredibly subversive towards the PC crowd, and they have no way to fight it.
