This offsets the cattle car problem at SWA

Since I went to law school in the Southwest, I spent many, many hours flying Southwest Airlines. I hated the cattle car approach (which I think they’ve done away with), but always appreciated the flight attendants. This guy is no exception:

I *LOVE* Southwest Airlines — it’s the best-run operation flying today, and they are going to take over the industry if the rest don’t get their acts together!
I also did not like the “cattle call”, but you know what? I could *afford* to fly on Southwest, rather than take the bus or stay home, so I (more or less cheerfully) put up with it.
They have refined their procedures now, and while there is still no seat assignment, your place in line is determined by when you confirmed your flight – beginning 24 hours before departure time.
We need lots more enterprises that innovate like Southwest does, that empower their staff (and hold them accountable) like Southwest does, and that take their customers seriously, like Southwest does. A GREAT company!
