Creepily symbolic picture of the day

I suspect Obama did this because he’s a yahoo who is out of his league, but there is no doubt but that this is a weirdly symbolic picture of Obama’s foreign policy.

And let’s not even get into the weird marital ramifications behind the fact that, while Obama grovels to kings, his wife hugs queens.

The appalling thing is that I can’t imagine Obama raising his butt in the air like that for any American, religious figure or otherwise.

Yes…it is a very telling photo: an American President grovelling to the titular head of the Mecca…and a racist, homophobe and sexist to boot. Nothing more needs to be said.

Since Obama seems so hell-bent on apologizing for things these days… I await his apology to the American People for this grotesque diplomatic embarrassment.

One wag has indicated that Obama must have been advised on the proper protocol and simply discarded it, because, being the Chosen One, he knows better than centuries of proper protocol. Due to his upbringing in Muslim societies as a child, he’s internalized the concept that Muslim rulers always expect to be bowed to, and Obama was simply following his own internalized belief that it would be an actual insult if he didn’t bow deeply from the waist, signifying submission.

If he was advised that the exact correct protocol was a half-head-bow from the neck only, and he discarded it on his own… I simply wouldn’t know what to say.

If he wasn’t so advised, someone needs to be replaced as an advisor pronto. “Under the bus with you!”

What a travesty. I’d like to retain respect for the office of President and to the man who was elected to that office, even if I don’t like him or his policies. But bowing to a foreign monarch, especially one who presides a repressive kingdom, is beyond the pale IMHO. Way beyond. I find it objectionable when American citizens — like Steven Spielberg — accept honorary knighthoods from the British crown ( I was gratified when a fine Brit actor, Paul Scofield, declined a knighthood, in an inspiring display of modesty). I am reaching the point of saying this man is not my President, because the President does not bow to foreign kings.

I’m gonna say it, even after promising myself that I would never stoop to the level of contempt and hatred that “progressives” showed for George Bush:

    WHAT WAS THAT ASSHOLE THINKING?

How dare that clueless creep demean his office and his country by bowing to anybody, let alone a murderous thug pushing a barbaric religion.

Gray, the Pod People just want their “three hots and a cot,” and they don’t mind being slaves. That is, after all, the slave’s bargain: give up your freedom for perpetual dependency.

At least most slaves didn’t sell themselves into servitude, though.

The Pod People will never have an “oh, shit” moment. Hitler’s laser-brain voters never did. Millions of idiot Russkis cried when Joe Stalin died. The stupid Chinese still venerate that old bugger Mao. Anything that went wrong was and is blamed on official scapegoats, forever.

Humans are amazingly impervious to reason. Amazingly.

Come to think of it, seems a lot of the lefties entering any right – of – left blogs and spewing have been a little scarce lately. I am hopeful it is because they are having their moments of doubt as they see what is in the wind – and are in deep thought about it.

    Hey, it could happen.

City dwellers will suffer heavily if the ca-ca hits the fan.
As one sits in his condo or high rise apartment overlooking a cityscape, he realizes there aren’t enough candles, isn’t enough food, isn’t enough bottled water on store shelves; the police can’t be everywhere, and most likely won’t be your friend anyway in real tough times. If the flow of goods and services stop, or become at least severely hindered, those dependent on the government will suffer first and perhaps foremost. Then, and only then, will they see. The ranks of the takers (moochers) are growing daily. The producers are becoming the slaves. And yes, guns and ammo have been flying off the shelves since Obama has been elected. It actually started when it looked as if he may win after all.

It can’t happen here? I’ve heard that all my life. But judging from gun sales, there are millions who somehow just don’t believe that anymore. And it needs to be understood that those who are now buying guns – who have never owned them before – are purchasing these weapons for fear they may need them in defense of hearth, home, family.

    In America.

Disgraceful. For more than two hundred years, neither Americans nor their Presidents bowed to royalty. We fought a revolution to rid ourselves of the whole affair and the idiotic idea of divine right of kings. When Obama is outside the US, he represents the People of the United States of America, not himself. Americans bend knee, bow, or prostrate to no ruler, especially not to 7th century savavges.

  9. on 02 Apr 2009 at 7:18 pm Oldflyer

I can hardly wait to see the media spin. How classy. Such wonderful humility. Finally, we don’t have a cowboy representing the U.S.

    I am just sick.

  10. on 02 Apr 2009 at 7:54 pm Ymarsakar

The media knows all about bending down and over. They will see nothing wrong with Obama doing the same. In fact, the media will see it as a gesture of friendship and trust.

    >> For more than two hundred years, neither Americans nor their Presidents bowed to royalty. We fought a revolution to rid ourselves of the whole affair and the idiotic idea of divine right of kings.

I’m less angry about this today, but far more disturbed. This wasn’t an official reception… this was just a meet and greet moment, a gathering for a photo op. The entire video makes that clear.

This is the only royalty that Obama has bowed to, during his Presidency: The king of Saudi Arabia, who as DannyL put it above, is “the titular head of the Mecca”. Obama’s had other encounters with royalty, and we’ve seen no bow.

This looks to me, more and more, like another case of the Obama facade slipping. They’re all mingling and mixing. Angela Merkl, looking somewhat confused, is led to her seat by an aide; she feels no need to greet the Saudi king. Obama, arriving and mingling, does want to… and does so… and immediately bows to him the first chance he gets. No time for thought; it’s an intrinsic, internal response that is purely an Obama reaction, not a Presidential reaction.

That’s my take on it. And I am more and more deeply troubled by this. Ask yourself: To whom else would Obama instinctively bow? I can’t come up with an answer. And because I view this as one of the cases where the mask has slipped – and we get a rare look at the real Obama – I am extremely troubled.

I’ve said it before, I’ll say it again – he’s a closet muslim.

“Give me the child till he’s seven, and you can have him the rest of his life”

He was raised as a muslim till he was 10. He’s still a muslim – down deep, where it counts.

No, Charles, I am going to say it … he was telling Americans,

YOU CAN KISS MY BLACK ASS, I WON!

p.s. Where was Michelle, would have loved to have a seen that howdy do.

How many years did in pray with the Rev. Wright – 20 of them. Didn’t they have an overview of the 10 Commandments?

    No. 5
Thou shalt not bow down thyself to them, nor serve them.

    >> I’ve said it before, I’ll say it again – he’s a closet muslim.

That’s certainly one of the possibilities!

It’s also possible that he is not a Muslim, but has simply internalized much of what it means to react as a Muslim would react, because he was immersed in Islam during the formative childhood years.

Heck, I was raised Catholic, and were I President, it’s entirely possible during an unguarded moment such as this, where I simply want to walk up and greet the Pope, I might too accidentally have bowed. But you’d better believe I’d follow it up with an official statement regretting what I had done in sullying the office of the President, and apologizing to the American People for my mistake. (And incidentally, making it clear in my statement that I no way owe fealty nor debt of any sort to the Pope nor any other religious leader. Not that the Saudi Arabian king is a religious leader – he’s not.)

Dang, there goes my religious comparison – out the window! I was going to erase it and start over, but I’m going to leave that paragraph there. Because what we are left with is the internalized accidental response of a Muslim to a Muslim king. It’s either that, or it’s suek’s conclusion: he is a closet Muslim.

Ick. I don’t want to mull over this any longer.

    >>Where was Michelle, would have loved to have a seen that howdy do.>>

    1) three steps behind Obama.

    2) back in the women’s area, where she belonged

    3) doesn’t matter. Women don’t, you know.

Oh goodie gumdrops, suek – it’s time for another list Where’s Waldo/Michelle?

    4) under the bus.

    5) being sized for a Spring birka.

    6) getting a cooking class on how best to prepare goat 101.

  19. on 03 Apr 2009 at 4:57 pm suek

7)Getting fitted for a burka? (whoops – you covered that one) Ok…so how about a hijab? or a “burkini”?
    http://sweetness-light.com/archive/will-the-burkini-spare-muslims-from-rapacious-aussies

    8) couldn’t get there because she couldn’t drive (women aren’t allowed to drive in Saudi) and couldn’t be alone in a car with a male driver

    9) after preparing the goat, she needs to be properly instructed on how to serve it – disappear. Women don’t eat with the men…they get whatever’s left.

(Re: 6) … that would be a “goat grab”. )

  20. on 03 Apr 2009 at 5:08 pm SADIE

    you are right it’s burka with a ‘u’ as in P. U.

    10) out shopping for ‘worry beads’ to go with her new wardrobe (sleeveless burkas are a no-no)

    11) watching the Fouad Network (Saudi’ version of the real one) looking for side dishes to go w/goat.

    12) went to the all ladies mall – having a special on ‘henna handiwork’

  21. on 03 Apr 2009 at 6:42 pm Charles Martel

    13. Asking hubby for a “pre-beating” so that she can out with the girls and not get punched around for having fun when she returns because she’ll be too tired to make those really gratifying whimpering sounds.

    14. Advising her six-year-old daughter that, no, she doesn’t have to let cousin Mohammed into her pants “just because the real Mohammed got into Aisha’s when she was that age.”

    15. Telling wife no. 2 to “STFU” about how hubby’s “al-Wandi” seems to grow an extra coupla millimeters whenever she plays “al-Shaggi al-Goat” with him.

  22. on 03 Apr 2009 at 10:44 pm Mike Devx

    16. Stuck at home cooling her jets because hubby Obama is at a Cabinet meeting, and she doesn’t have a brother or son nearby to drive her to the mall.

    17. Spending hours quieting her daughters down, after they said, “But Mama, you used to tell us that we could be anything we wanted to be”, and she had to tell them that was before Sharia.

    18. Busy concealing knives and guns everywhere throughout the house after Obama said, “he really liked the examples that Mohammed gave about living life well”, and how those second-grade girls he’d just spoken to looked kinda nice and perky. And not as inclined to argue with him and get on his nerves as someone he could name.

  23. on 04 Apr 2009 at 7:55 am suek

Well that sort of dropped the level of the list a bit…!

Not that you’re wrong (although I think Mohammed’s “wife” Alisha was 9, not six. Like _that’s_ any better…!) just that you guys are getting right down to the nitty-gritty, so to speak.

I _do_ wonder how he reconciles his warm feelings towards islam with his positions on homosexuality and abortion…

  24. on 04 Apr 2009 at 7:58 am suek

Where _are_ the girls, by the way? Left at home with Gramma?? Hmmmm. Seems like the foreign travel would be good for them. Maybe. Have to think about that one. Plusses and minusses on both sides of the equation.

  25. on 04 Apr 2009 at 8:18 am SADIE

I had the same reaction to the tone of the list, but more interesting is that the guys are showing true grit and anger, which is rather nice and gallant. No doubt, the female members of their families are well loved and protected.

As to the girls…they’re at home practicing being arrogant and derisive, just as their father announced to Europe about Americans.

  26. on 04 Apr 2009 at 8:58 am Mike Devx

    >> Well that sort of dropped the level of the list a bit…!

Sorry, ladies! Ze men, zey have ze minds in ze gutter, always!

    My favorite one is:
    12) went to the all ladies mall – having a special on ‘henna handiwork’

I’m picturing a bunch of men stuck in the parking lot around their cars. What in the heck would they talk about? “If Zineh doesn’t get back here within ten minutes, I will whip her seven times.” “My Malineh is very late. I will whip her TEN times.”

And just how big could this mall be anyway? No makeup stores – not allowed! No jewelry. No music stores – not allowed! There’s not a lot left, is there?

“Burqa Boutique” and its seven competitor stores.
“Hajib Heaven” and its three competitor stores.
“Beads, Unscented Soap, And Other Stuff” – for those few accessories that the trapped female probably needs, when she’s not catering to the needs of misogynist men who claim to love her, but who keep some matches and the can of kerosene around, just in case.

  27. on 04 Apr 2009 at 9:14 am suek

You’ve got it wrong on the mall size, Mike. Somewhere – probably S&L – had a couple of articles on the women’s speciality shops in Iran, I think. Under those burkas, the ladies are wearing some pretty hot stuff. Which shouldn’t suprise you gutter-minded gentlemen much. It isn’t that muslim men don’t like the Victoria Secrets type stuff, it’s just that they’re totally selfish and want to keep it all for themselves. Actually, I agree with the thought – with limitations. And of course, they think limitations are for wimps…!

  28. on 04 Apr 2009 at 9:43 am SADIE

    That’s the spirit, Mike!

Excellent list. Easy to fall into ‘gutter talk’ considering the subject matter.

The ladies mall, actually does exist in Saudi. No men allowed, except when the modesty police are chasing after women, who ‘disobeyed’ who have run into the mall for protection, which gave rise to the very popular chain……….

    Foot (in-your-butt) Locker

No limitations for muslim men, the wealthier ones get out of town, go to Beirut, drink, whore it up, spend lots of moolah in casinos, obviously the poorer ones have to make do with local herds of sheep and goats, which reminds me of a news item in recent months as follows:

Pakistani man goes to work in Dubai, gets caught ‘in the act’ with a camel.
Pakistani is deported back home. Camel is shot because it was defiled.

Anyone wanna have fun with the welcome home banner on this one?

Honey…I don’t know how it happened, I was in the desert relieving myself and this damn camel backed into me.

  29. on 04 Apr 2009 at 10:08 am Mike Devx

I will remain endlessly fascinated by the knowledge that conservative women are consistently outraged by the sickening oppression directed against Muslim women in jihadist or strict theocratic Islamic societies… yet the liberal women remain COMPLETELY silent.

The liberal feminist silence is just a source of endless fascination to me. Someday, someone, somewhere will provide an explanation for the liberal feminist silence that makes sense.

The whipping video, which I viewed yesterday, has me practically in a state of rage. Still.
