And now that Arlen is a Democrat again, he is on all the talk shows, discussing how the Republican Party can make itself better. Isn’t that gracious of him, to help out the Republicans by offering such heartfelt advice?

In fact, there are scads and scads of Democrats rushing to the cameras to help out the Republican party, offering selflessly their crucial opinions on how the Republican Party can better itself. Their kindness and concern, and their desire to help the Republicans win, overwhelms me with gratitude towards them.

Philadelphia’s DA had no comment when asked about 1,500 signatures taken right out of the phone book. Of course, I live about 20 miles from the office of the former DA, Arlen Specter, who was a Democrat at the time. I don’t think an investigation will see the light of day in Philly.

Let’s hope Nevada hits the jackpot.

We should not have to purchase nor acquire ‘tools’ to insure complete and full access at all times. We certainly are paying for the service with our telephone carriers. The fact that they can tamper with the service is very questionable and very objectionable, too! I have cut and pasted complete articles and emailed myself to insure that I have access to them in the future, should I need/want to refer to them.

These days, if I suspect they may pull a video due to so-called “objectionable content”, or have a video modified, I download the video to my computer.

There was a video of this football-player type called “Terry Something-or-other”. In this particular video, Sarah Palin was giving her interview to Katie Couric. Then this guy jumps into the frame and viciously slams Palin to the floor. She is shown (actually a marionette) slumped face down on the floor, while he stands over her screaming at her to shut up and to have a brain. You can hear dubbed audio of her moaning and groaning in great pain.

A few days later, I revisited the video to make a point… and the video had changed. The moans and groans of pain were gone, and in their place was a cheerful, chipper Palin-voice saying “Nope, not hurt!”

A YouTube video… the same exact hyperlink… modified without notice or warning. Not even pulled, or redirected to the modified video at a different link… but modified in place. I did not like the 1984-ish Stalinesque feel of that.

Anway. These days I sometimes download. To accomplish the video download, I use a tool called Tooble on my Mac. I don’t know that they have a version for Windows yet, but there other freeware tools out there…

The [Bush] administration handed over twitter.com/thewhitehouse at noon on Inauguration Day, just like it did with the whitehouse.gov website. Google still has the old account… in its cache. Valleywag alum Paul Boutin suggests on Gadgetwise that this is a simple rationalization of accounts, matching the definite-article-free “whitehouse” username the Obama team uses on Flickr and YouTube. But Obama’s Twitterers didn’t just change the username on the account; they started fresh, wiping out all of the White House’s existing Twitter followers, and the entire archive of messages.

Gotta wonder now what’s lost and gone into some cyperspace, which sets up another question, since I am a novice at the tech end of computers.

Q. Can Google or any other such entity delete at will, never to be retrieved all forms, comments, letters, exchange of information, opinions. If yes….and with the continued decline of print media, how would the continued exchange of information continue, expand and record history and opinion? I read today that Google wants to purchase Twitter.
