When I try to take in the overall American mindset today, I get the impression that it is simply time for the American people as a whole to go through another painful life lesson in real world economics. It seems that failed economic ideas never die. Too many people in our country are ready to try them again, and to this point, they're still happy with the experiment. Addicts sometimes have to hit rock-bottom to confront harsh reality because they lack the wisdom to avoid the pain. If you see (overall) our country engaged in frivolous pursuits in every way, it appears the concrete harsh lesson is necessary before the recovery can happen. Perhaps suffering through four years of a far-left, pure-Statist idealogue such as Obama, is the necessary price to pay for our overall frivolity in our lives... especially the frivolity of the 53% that chose to ignore all evidence (which they could have found with a little research). Heck, <b>I</b> needed that lesson. It wasn't until midway through the Democratic primary that I learned that Obama was not the moderate of his carefully crafted image, that he was deserving of deep mistrust. It took me another two months after that to understand his duplicity, to grasp how effectively he distorted language to hide the truth. As economic reality hits home - likely in time for the 2010 elections - Americans will more and more reject Obama's strange language in favor of good old-fashioned American plain-spoken truth. If only we can find a conservative candidate to effectively grasp that, we'll be fine in the end. So let the Democrats take complete control of the Legislative Branch. Look what happened to the Republicans after the promise of 1994... it took ten years of descent to throw the entire Republican brand into disfavor. I am absolutely certain the Democrat descent will be dizzyingly faster. Knowing it won't last forever won't make it any easier to live through, I know. There is no doubt that he will exploit the limits of all his options - plus a little more. But . . . but . . . . today is the 30th anniversary of the acension of the Iron Lady to the position of Prime Minister. When she arrived on the stage of Britain, it ws in a state probably far worse than Obama can put us in four years, even with a 60 vote majority. And she undid much of the damage caused to post WWII Britain by the socialist policies of her predecesors, economically at least. So, whilst we may have true cause for concern, we can always maintain Hope for Change. True, we have every reason to be concerned.
