So therapists are specifically taught to practice non-judgmental openmindedness, as well as to exercise the obviously necessary skill of putting themselves imaginatively into the heart and mind of another person. This emphasis on empathy further extends the idea of openminded and nonjudgmental acceptance of the other person’s point of view.

One particular subject here concerns empathy. Many people believe, I dare say, that sociopaths or sadists lack empathy: that the reason they can hurt others is because they don't feel the pain of others. I don't believe that is exactly correct. Empathy does not make you a good person guaranteed nor does it make you more "sensitive" in the meaning of the Democrat propaganda messages we see so often. In fact, narcissists, sociopaths, serial killers, and sadists have very highly defined empathic abilities and sensitivities.

A request for an edit.

The first paragraph is Neo's, but the second paragraph is my own and should not be block quoted along with hers.

2. How to use others’ emotions in order to inculcate specific and primeval reactions so as to bypass rationality or wise due consideration on the part of the subject in question.

That should, of course, be "How to use the emotions of others in order to inculcate specific and primeval reactions in order to bypass rationality or otherwise due consideration on the part of the subject in question".

Book, I didn't have an introduction in mind since all I knew at the time was that I wanted to discuss the correlation between Neo's post on psychology and my own parallel thoughts on the same subject.

But in so far as the topics I had covered, certainly your abstract is an accurate one.

The Left believes that they are smart enough to be able to understand everyone, and thus this makes them wise, enlightened, and superior to the rest of us non-ideological cult members.

But they are not smart enough. They are not even wise enough to figure out that wisdom is not the same as intelligence or calculation speed or amount of knowledge acquired. For one thing, they do not understand all cultures or even our culture. How are they then able to tout themselves as smart because they understand Middle East and other multicultural climates? They don't even get our culture, let alone anybody else's. This is not an indication of intelligence and it certainly is not an indication of wisdom or enlightenment. Then again, when you have Democrats in power for life like Robert KKK Byrd and Ted Splash Kennedy, that gets kind of obvious.

For a case study, read and follow the links in one of Neo's recent posts. Study and consider the example of Obama and his charismatic impact upon the masses. Isolate and correlate techniques with intended and actual consequences and then compare with people's "stated perceptions" of Obama. You will see, I forward, that much of it operates from the premises and methodologies that I have described here in. The more people are able to comprehend propaganda and reproduce that manipulation of emotions, the more people will become resistant to mass delusion, denial, or external manipulation. But, propaganda is powerful precisely because while an atom bomb is scary enough to trigger people's self-defense mechanisms and make them more motivated in defending themselves against being obliterated, the same is not true of propaganda. People do not fear it enough. Thus they fall prey to it, because they do not take the necessary precautions on the basis and justification there is no need to take any precautions: that they are too smart or too well traveled to fall prey to the con. As we have seen, whether Americans or Third World Nigerians, it does not matter. People are easily manipulated by those with the talent, skill, and motivation.

But Obama’s formidable people skills were also on display, and he provided enough reassurance, vague though it might have been, that many of the families were hopeful:

“I did not vote for the man, but the way he talks to you, you can’t help but believe in him,” said John Clodfelter to the New York Times. His son, Kenneth, was killed in the Cole bombing. “[Mr. Obama] left me with a very positive feeling that he’s going to get this done right.”

“This isn’t goodbye,” said the president, signing autographs and posing for pictures before leaving for his next appointment, “this is hello.” His national security staff would have an open-door policy.

[...]

But of course, throughout history when dangerous, radical men have offered themselves up for leadership, their moderate supporters have rationalized their early support by hoping that the dangerous man is really a sensible man like them and doesn’t believe some of those wild things he has said to his more fervent followers.

But as the campaign clock ticks down to its last days and hours, prudent people have to consider the possibility that beneath that easy manner and calming voice is the pulsating heart of a genuine man of the radical left.-Forewarning prophecy

The special and rare historical moment of what the Founding Fathers accomplished is that they created a system not in the absence of character corruption, danger, and the delusional greed of the many, but because of it. They used man's inhumanity to create the best of humanity. Used greed to create charity. Used self-interest and selfishness to place shackles upon the mighty and the megalomaniacal. We cannot say as an excuse that we failed here today because something new came on the scene that unmanned us. Nothing new came on the scene. It has all been done before. May God save the Republic, for we have certainly not ensured that the enemies of the Republic have been eliminated from existence. And there are no good enemies to have, except dead enemies. Psychology can provide the tools for this consequence, not by the obvious bombs and brute force methodologies employed by police states, but through directing the hate and the energies of your enemies against your chosen targets. They no longer are your enemies when you control them. They are no longer individuals. Allies at best, or if not allies, certainly tools. As mentioned on Bookworm's blog before, whenever societal upheaval results, scapegoats will be required. And it is still now our choice whether the sacrificial victims will be us and the belief we have for the strengths of America, or whether it will be those who engendered the problem in the first place. I far prefer it to be the latter than the former.
