Recall the press treatment that poor Gerry Ford got for stumbling. The One has bumped into a White House door already, even before this recent escapade. Minimal press coverage. Bright Democrats, dumb Republicans? It goes back at least as far as Adlai Stevenson.
Think of Tom Lehrer from that era: the very model of the modern thinking liberal who knows in his bones that “Adlai is smarter.” It was very common during that era for Democrats, especially the more educated and liberal type, to portray Eisenhower as a syntax-challenged doofus who couldn’t even conduct a press conference without tripping on his participles. Sound familiar? (Disclaimer: I grew up on Tom Lehrer’s songs, know them by heart, and am glad I do.)

Obama must have been chewing gum during this press conference.
Democrats must believe that the only way to fight a plutocracy is to create their own aristocratic class, except this one will be based upon brains.
However, at least the often maligned plutocrats of the business world have real money and wealth. The Democrats? Their self-purported “brilliance” is nothing but a sham. It’s the village idiot seeing someone who knows how to count the numbers of toes he has, and this makes the new guy “brilliant” to the village idiot. Then along comes someone else who can count both his fingers and his toes, “At the same time”, and this guy is seen as “brilliant” and a genius by the last two.
And so on it goes. This is the Democrat “culture of intelligence”.
Where every moron is given a blood right to “rule” based upon their IQ.
No wonder they advocate aborting babies, start or ending terms. Babies don’t have much IQ. Must seem a pretty useless waste of oxygen and human resources to the Left. After all, babies can’t vote nor can fetuses. Their votes cannot be bought, for they don’t exist. Thus has the Democrat party defined the importance of life. Your life is useful if you are considered to be smart and part of the elite education class. Your life is useless if you can’t or won’t vote Democrat.
The people talking about there is a “corporate” bias in the media, are the perfect useful idiots for propagandists.
So long as people are convinced that the work of propagandists has something to do with “advertisement returns” or “corporate business profits”, they will forever be looking in the wrong place with their backs turned on true propaganda. Which is perfectly fine with propagandists. That’s how you convince people to do what you want them to do. By making them think that they are doing the opposite of corporate propaganda, when in fact there is no corporate propaganda apparatus, there is only your propaganda apparatus, which nimbly uses people’s paranoia about “Media conglomerates” to full effect.
People are dumb, fools, and insane all at once, every once in a while. You just have to nudge them in the right direction.
I guess the difference between me and a leftist is that Obama’s little mistake makes me shrug. It isn’t a reason to make me dislike the man—he who has already given me such an abundance of other reasons to do so.
Yes, had Bush committed this minor gaffe the little minds that hate would have yucked and howled in glee.
This is about tactics. You can degrade a person’s authority by making fun of him, daring him to abuse his authority, eroding it further, or to ignore it, which further erodes his authority because you will continue to undermine his.
By making it apparent that people can continue to repeat their subversive political attacks without suffering retaliation or consequences, convinces people that either the Leader approves of such rhetoric and behavior, can’t do anything about it even if he did not approve, or is too stupid to even notice.
In the propaganda war, image is reality.
Bush was a hands off person, one who didn’t like to micromanage or engage in petty remarks, no matter how much it eroded the authority of the office of the President of the United States, of which Bush was a caretaker of.
Obama, however, is more of a direct operator, even though he takes pains to stand far away enough that the blood doesn’t splash on him. That style affirms his authority in the short term, as it bolsters the belief that he still has control over affairs and criticisms, to the point where nobody dare criticism him (not because he lacks faults, but because he can dig up your faults and air them publicly). The Democrats respect this ruthlessness. HOwever, in the long term, this produces a degradation of authority for people who follow you out of fear will actively rebel once the threat of imminent personal destruction goes away or at least alleviates.
The hand of the tyrant must always be ever present, for it is like riding a tiger. You can’t get off whenever you feel like it, because the tiger will rip you apart if you do.
The MSM knows very well how Obama’s credibility as a leader would decrease if people were to see and hear such a thing. They know how it would play out. Which is why they play it out for Republicans, but hide it for Democrats. They actively know the public relations result and they are shilling and whoring for the Democrats, because they have pledged their loyalty to that party and if that means declaring war against America, other political parties, or human liberty, then so be it. They are very tribal in this manner.
This video is, once again, an example of poor staffing.
I suggest Obama appoint a “Direction” czar. He can remind the president- “Mr. President, you are always on the left of everything.”
Of course, you might think he’d have already gotten that by now.
