I hope the visit from HRH doesn't mess up my commute on Monday. After all, some of us have to actually work for pay to support ourselves and our volunteer habits! Although I get the feeling my volunteer hours with Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts, and my church just don't count as "real" service to the community, you know? Or my family's memberships to several service organizations that support different charities, historical sites, and provide homes and death benefits for members. Swell. It can happen through legal harassment by the courts, smears through false charges filed by local prosecutors, physical intimidation, harassment by city inspectors and any number of other ways. This is now being brought to practice on a national level. In my view, firing the IGs is only the beginning. Welcome to the New American Fascist State! My hope is that somewhere in the country there are enough decent Democrats left to break ranks and say "no". Not that I am holding my breath or anything.
