Interestingly, a movie called just that was released in 2006. Very funny one. He still thought life was going to be like buddy buddies in the Senate. All compromises for each other's mutual re-election bids. He thought them media was his friend, his conduit to America, rather than America's bitter enemy. He thought he could benefit America by conceding half of what the Democrats wanted in his little bills, instead of realizing that America would onl benefit when the Democrats are run out of power on a rail, a nuke, or whatever else is available for delivery. He wasn't ready for prime time. And neither is Obama. McCain wasn’t ready for prime time.

He still thought life was going to be like buddy buddies in the Senate. All compromises for each other’s mutual re-election bids.
