AUGUST 14th SAN FRANCISCO TEA PARTY
HEALTHCARE PROTEST!!!
DATE:
Friday, August 14th
TIME:
1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. Show up and leave when you want/can.
WHERE:

PLANS:
A “Mock Town Hall Meeting.” Since the Speaker won’t come to us and answer our questions, we’ll bring the Speaker to you!
A Moment of Being Silenced…need I say more…bring tape if you so desire as we’ll have 15 minutes of silence! Don’t Flag Me, Bro!
A Candle Vigil…for our missing representatives.
Healthcare professionals, please wear your uniforms and lab coats, etc.
The People will have the opportunity to speak for a few minutes with the Bullhorn. Keep it pithy and on point and keep your cool!
CONDUCT/SECURITY:
(1) If you see anything that doesn’t feel right or a participant who has a sign that doesn’t sound like one of ours or you see someone trying to goad us, point them out to a police officer and grab someone w/ a video camera.
(2) We are angry but let’s use our anger creatively to get our point across. Do not give in to any attempts by infiltrators to anger you. That is what they are trying to do! Don’t give them and their pals in the press the upper hand.
WHAT TO BRING:
Your signs and a red T-shirt. Signs should stick to the healthcare theme. I’ll be forwarding an email w/ an attachment with sample signs you can download.
Feel free to wear your own red T –shirt but it would be awesome if you wore our Bay Area Patriots T-shirt. You can view it on www.bayareapatriots.com. Hanes Beefy T’s for $15 and $20 for XXL.
There will be 3 “stations” to pick up your Ts: (1) for those who pre-ordered and pre-paid; (2) for those who pre-ordered but still need to pay and (3) for those purchasing Ts at the event.
WHAT TO DO:
(1) RSVP to me at sallyzel@comcast.net ONLY IF you WILL attend;
(2) Continue to call Pelosi, Boxer, Feinstein and your local congressperson and inquire about meetings with their constituents during the summer recess. So far, to the best of my knowledge, none have been scheduled yet but let’s keep the pressure on.
One other thing: Before you go, bone up on what it means to be a true, democratic protester.
