He should have said it to us, Mike. Or perhaps to Rush. After all, we're the evil Republicans that led dear Book astray! The sinister, revolutionary, astro turf professional insurgents ya know.

Mike...you don't think that Mr. B is reading Mrs. B's blog (wink wink) secretly in the tropics.

I noted in my post #11 the use of the "you" thing. I, personally, detest and resent it. To me it rings like, You Jooooos, as if I or any other spoke for all.

You Republicans, is really childish since many of us share different views on a variety of subjects and come to think of..... it's so un-liberal to throw a blanket over all of us.

In fact, it's from the liberal point of view that I've heard how awful it is to blanket all Arabs as terrorists. Of course, no problem calling us full of sh**.

I've heard of selective reasoning, but selective sh**.

> He further told me that Obama stated catagorically that he never said he wanted a single-payer plan. Instead, he just wanted universal health care. So, said Mr. Bookworm, “you Republicans are full of s***.”

Did Mr. Bookworm really say that to you, Book?

It is sad that he takes a politician's statement to be utter truth, first of all. How nice that must be!

But worse is the hostility towards you. I assume you have never said that he and his supporters are full of s***. It's kind of shocking for you to receive that treatment from him. Perhaps you had to be there.

Very interesting Camille Paglia collumn, the first 2 pages anyway. She still thinks Obama's the messiah, but I'm fine with any opposition to the current madness.

Good point, Gringo
Great list, Charles Martel

The conundrum for Mr. Bookworm is the same as it is for a lot of liberal folks - an emotional filter that blocks common sense and attacks the messenger. Note the use of "you". Had he just said Republicans and then finished his thought, all well and good, since he is entitled to his even (unsupported) opinion in a give n' take between couples.

You should play that song in the background, Book. It adequately spells out the Democrat lack of compassion on this score.

Hi BW,
Glad you're relaxing and renewing in the warm winds of the tropics.
Charles' list of point/counter point questions for Mr. BW is most comprehensive.
But I feel he would be able to answer them to his own satisfaction.
And you're on vacation, anyway.
I would be mildly interested to know if any of Mr. BW's clients had ever lied to him.
Ask him, if you care to, after you get back home.

I'd just ask Mr. Bookworm:

1. What's the best that could happen if Obama gets his way?

2. What's the worst that could happen if Obama gets his way?

3. Which is more likely to happen? (Knowing that he'll opt for "the best that can happen.")

4. How do you know?

5. What (and from where) contrary information would it take to convince you otherwise?

His answers will expose the limits of his thinking. As Gringo says, "if the NYT didn't cover it, it didn't occur."

Sadie:
Give Mr. Bookworm a q-tip to get the sand out of his ears, he’s listening with DES (Democratic Ear Syndrome – they love the sound of their own voice).
I would define it in this case as NYT syndrome: if the NYT didn't cover it, it didn't occur.

Flopping Aces has posted three videos of Obama's speeches in 2003, 2007, and today (August 11, 2009). They can not all be him speaking truth. Here's the link:
