MSNBC was dropped by the cable company in the building where I live. If I wanted to watch it I would have to shell out money and go up a tier in service (cable is included with condo fees).
IT WAS A NO BRAINER – like MSNBC.

I briefly listened to the stunningly stupid and arrogant Senator Boxer on MSNBC last night, interviewed by Rachel Mattox. Boxer praised Mattox and Keith Olbermann for their efforts in getting the truth out and informing the public (gaaaag!) and then went on to quote the Great Lie that 80 percent of consumer bankruptcies result from medical bills (that’s up 10 percent from Chris Dodd’s recital of the same misinformation). All I can muster to feel for this partisan media is revulsion.

One thing I noticed when I actually heard these politicians speak is that they are pretty smooth. Maybe not a genius rhetorical master like the ancient Greeks, but still better than average.

Their text isn’t particularly interesting or rare. It’s a dime a dozen. But the delivery is something else.

It naturally leads to soothing and calming people down, by making themselves appear reasonable and superior vs others.

That’s the skill set of a politician. And it doesn’t take much to corrupt it into a narcissistic disorder, or a megalomaniac one.
