When it comes to health care, the devil is in the details (and isn’t it always?) *UPDATED*

At the Absurd Report, you can read a brief synopsis of the entire 1000+ page health care bill focusing, not on the extraneous minutiae, but on the core provisions.  And, as you have already realized, it is the few core provisions scattered throughout the bill that ensure that our national health care system is socialized within a decade or so.  For example:

Division A – Affordable Health Care Choices (pages 4-215)
This division creates a Health Insurance Exchange (HIE) with a public health insurance option along with private insurance plans.

The government will determine what is a qualifying plan (section (202 (d)(2)). You must be covered under a qualifying plan on January 1, 2013 or you will be automatically enrolled in the public plan (Div.A Title I Subtitle A Section 102 (a)(1)(A) page 16 lines 11-16).

There are NO new enrollees in private health plans after January 1, 2013 (Div. A Title I Subtitle A Section 102 (a)(1)(A) page 16 lines 11-16).

I urge you to read the whole thing, here.

UPDATE:  Reader Indigo Red provides further useful information:

The answer to BrianE’s question is that if the reform bill is passed this year then taxing to fund the program begins 2010 providing gov’t 3 yrs of revenue dedicated to one program, thus thwarting opponents objections to an unfunded program. As a side benefit, the extra revenue is to be added to each of the 3 years financial statements to artificially inflate the appearence of gov’t solvency under Obama.

H.R. 3200 is only one of four major health reform bills going through Congress. The Senate has an unnumbered bill from which the “death panel” section was removed. But it still contains a cornucopia of objectionable sections and mandates. The <a href=”http://i2.cdn.turner.com/cnn/2009/images/08/14/senate.health.care.bill.pdf” rel=”nofollow”>Senate version</a> is also available to read and at half the length of the House version. One of the sections has to do with the government’s right to go into anyone’s home and tell the occupant what they can eat based on gov’t dietary guidelines and how to raise their children according to childrearing experts.

Also, the Immigration Reform bill Obama promised to start work on already includes a “normalization” provision making illegals residents and thus eligable for the Health Reforms in HR3200 that Obama swears will not allow illegals medical beyond reasonable decency standards.

This is a multipronged attack on America. Everything this administration and Congress does must be watched. Don’t get distracted by one bill. What isn’t in one bill is in another and fit together like a puzzle.
