<B>I am still waiting for signs of enough conservatism to pull me back into the fold.</b>

I already have in mind certain stratagems, which don't really involve waiting per say, to usher in the new model republican force.

Crowder, the white guy on PJ TV, is a self-identified Christian Republican that says Sarah Palin doesn't speak for him or represent him. Obviously that's true on one level, since he ain't ever been a citizen of Alaska, but his context was that of a more national front.

Now if purges were simply about ideology or loyalty, then he might or might not have to go if there was a cult of personality around Palin like Obama's. But a purge of the Republican party involves concrete benefits in organization and strategy. It is not based upon subject criteria. Since Crowder is performing a benefit on the propaganda front, excommunicating him or attempting to do so, would be counter-productive. The risk outweighs the rewards, so to speak, of a purge. And besides, there is also the feasibility factor. He's an employee of PJ TV, just like Rachel, and not a denizen of the Republican political elite circles like the RNC chair or someone like Peggy Noonan.

This is about the truth. I don't really care what they get offended by. After all, Crowder can get offended by charges of limousine and wine sipping elitists all he wants, but he thinks there aren't any truth to the charges about the Republican party. That's an indictment on his inexperience and lack of political savvy, not an indictment on those of us making the charge concerning wine sippers being against Palin on class issues. It's too idealistic and I believe part of that has to do with youth, naive youth. It's born of someone that hasn't seen the Chicago Machine in action. Corruption is not limited by party lines.

To defeat the enemies of the United States Constitution, one must first recognize what that enemy is. And that enemy isn't the Democrat party. The power of the Democrat party is used to further the destruction of the US Constitution, but our enemies are ideological and not political. It is not that there is a political difference between people like me and people like Pelosi, that could somehow be resolved through compromise where we both get what we want. No, that's not how it goes. And if that is true for the Democrat party and us, then it is also true of the Republican party and us. Corruption, after all, is powerful because of its ability to get even good men entangled in webs of deception. And Republicans have been, for the most part, more naive and more ready to be soft on enemies than Democrats have been.

It was not a Republican that started America's involvement in WWI, WWII, Korea, Vietnam. The Left doesn't talk about Lincoln and Republicans starting the Civil War because that'd be something that blacks shouldn't hear, from their perspective.

I'll mostly leave convincing people of the truth to people that are best at reasonable argument, like Book and Neo. They have had a life experience with such things, talking to former and current fake liberals. I, on the other hand, learned a more direct way of handling certain issues in my formative years. I don't really like sitting around with Leftists or conservatives or Republicans trying to convince them that what they knew wasn't so. I'd much prefer to study them in order to catalog their weaknesses and vulnerabilities for a future strike.

I've tried my hand at debate, as best as I could. I learned much from the conflict of interest over Iraq amongst various debates and meta-arguments. It was something people had to at least try to do, in order to learn its advantages and disadvantages. Given the opponent that we had, Al Qaeda or the Democrat party, the disadvantages of simple argument was a bit too much for me.

<B>Newsom’s fall from grace doesn’t really surprise me.</b>

Grace? Did Newsom try to get a sugar daddy and spoke to the wrong divinity?

Charles M #3:
> you’re going to want some legitimate clips to show when the paper collapses and you’re looking for work at another publication.

LOL, awesome! No, wait, they don't need to show legit clips when they can always work for the NY Times... no, wait, the NY Times isn't exactly <b>hiring</b> these days, is it?

Giggle, giggle, guffaw myself! Oh, it's not very nice to enjoy the misfortunes of others, even when they are sooooooooooo deserving. Media bias is a sword that cuts both ways. Or should I say, it's a very sharp knife that can turn in the hand that is wielding it and cut deeply. And oh my, it appears to be the case!

But Republicans in D.C. shouldn't get complacent. As Instapundit noted:
<i>"The irony here is that the Republicans played little role in their recovery, and are instead the innocent and passive beneficiaries of a grassroots (and radio-inspired) insurgency that, if they examine it carefully, may yet bite them as fiercely as it has bitten the president and his congressional allies.” Yes, those who think the Tea Party crowds are inherently pro-Republican are missing something.</i>

That is definitely the case with me. The Republicans have yet to indicate that they deserve my vote. I am still waiting for signs of enough conservatism to pull me back into the fold.

At work here may be the mind-clearing imminence of the Chronicle's demise.

It's one thing to be a toady hack when the newspaper is flush with ad revenue and all you have to do is put yourself on autopilot and preach predigested socialist pap to a fat and sassy choir.

It's another to realize that in light of the Chron's 30% circulation loss in 3 years, maybe you should actually practice real journalism because a.) the only readers left are drooling ostrich leftists and b.) you're going to want some legitimate clips to show when the paper collapses and you're looking for work at another publication.

Newsom's fall from grace doesn't really surprise me. Most outsiders and many San Franciscans see him for what he is---a handsome metrosexual who loves to indulge his appetites and is not really a very well read, thoughtful or informed man. California is way past the point where being a nice looking hood ornament qualifies you for governor.

No one is more vicious in their attacks than the disillusioned believer. Their hopes, their dreams are transformed into screams.

The Dems out of power so long (essentially since '94) were able to spin a yarn about their utopia. Any failings were the result of "those people" who just didn't get it. Now in charge, they are "those people" and reality bites.

Let's assume most people become politically aware at 19. That means that anyone younger than 34 has never seen the lefties wield power to any extent. Add in those older Dems who kept the faith with the Clintons Now throw the rudder over to Left full with empty ballast and fuel tanks. She's heeling hard over and hanging there. It doesn't take long to realize you've got to shift starboard before the next big wave hits.. That's a lot of disappointed acolytes who will be striking out to hide their embarrassment. Alex P. Keatons all around.
